Panamera [Official] Porsche Panamera

The Porsche Panamera is a mid to full-sized luxury car (E-segment or F-segment for LWB in Europe) manufactured and marketed by Porsche. The Panamera name, as with the Carrera name, is derived from the Carrera Panamericana race.
How the touch feeling of the central console buttons mo ?

Guys: Guess what is the most amazing thing about this car ?

Fuel consumption !!!!! I managed on 1 full tank 950+ KM !!!!!! amazing stuff.

Never saw the standard "rear package", so here is a photo. Doesn't look that great, without climate control, seat heating etc

well in direct comparison it doesn't look so bad though - the first pic was a grey coloured interior, there it looked cheap, but here:

I test drove the Panamera Turbo extensively and would not reccomend it to anyone coming from a faster forced induction vehicle like a 911 Turbo or similar.

The turbo on the Panamera felt laggy, lazy and just inferior to that of the 997 TT.

I know that its apples to oranges, but to some, like me, comparing apples to oranges was required. I am going from a 997 TT to a saloon, I needed to compare it. I was hoping the PTT would suffice but it doesnt. There are many reasons for this and primarily I think its the smaller turbines, lack of VTG and most importantly the overall weight of the PTT.

For someone coming from a 7 series, S500/600, S8 the PTT would be heaven as its a sedan with crazy torque/HP. It would definitely be an upgrade. But from someone coming from a forced induction sports car, the PTT would be a downgrade.

I kept getting dissapointed throughout the roughly 2 hour (solo by the way) test drive. I kept waiting for more but was let down each time.

I have to mention though that in general I am not a fun of turbos. I prefer powerful NA engines like the Ferrari F430 or the upcoming 458 Italia. I have enjoyed the 997 TT for about 1 year and a half which translates into 60,000 happy KMs but will probably not opt for a forced induction engine in the future.

The PTT would be great for those coming from luxury sedans that are mediocre in performance but terrible for those coming from anything superior in performance.

I have chosen the P4S. This way I will not be dissapointed whenever the turbines spin but do not deliver up to my expectations.

^^
You're not the first person to direct critisism at the 4.8l powerplant in the Panamera. When the car was launched I mentioned that Porsche are holding back the performance of the car in anticipation of the forthcoming M5. Although fast, the Panamera needs more than 500hp to give the driver the experience of driving a rocket -- most importantly, the car needs more torque to thrust the car violently forwards. In 2.5 years you shall see an engine update bumping power up to 550hp or so. That will be the ultimate Panamera Turbo.

Given that the car already demolish other four seaters, Porsche didn't feel the need to grant the car more than 500hp but will instead milk the cow slowly by saving some of the performance for what BMW will unleach in 18-24 months time.

I forgot all about the possibilities of a Panamera and Panamera 4. I guess it will be like the S350 -- entry level model

I see Porsche are now also using touch-screens like VW with the Mk. II Touareg.

I would really love to have one of those..
A good engine.. fast enough..economical..
Easy to sell

Whats not to love..

I need 75K Euro..:(

Interestingly, for those who care, the 3.6 litre V6 in the Panamera is an all-new 90 degree V6 with direct injection and represents a distinct departure from the previous narrow-angle "VR" 3.6 litre sourced from VW.

400 Nm for a 3.6 litre, naturally aspirated V6 is bloody impressive. A nice, muscular engine that'll make for an amazingly enticing entry-point on the Cayenne mk2 in particular. It aslo, of course, does wonders for the appeal of the entry-level Panamera.
