Anyone noticed that the video's duration is 9:18 ?
Brilliant video for a really brilliant car,can watch this on repeat for an hour

There are one 918 less because an employee of Porsche crashed into a crash barrier on a german federal highway. Thank godness only the passenger was slightly injured.

What a spooky car. It's so planted that even when the driver gets out of shape and understeer it looks very settled as a train on rails. Hopefully Chris Harris will gets his hands on it and switch off everything, including the electric motors so that we can find out how is behaves in "Petrol head mode".

^I'm eagerly waiting when it the P1 and LaFerrari finally met to see who approach to hybrid technology makes the most complete car.

Oh and by this I don't necessarily mean the quickest.

Hopefully Chris Harris will gets his hands on it and switch off everything, including the electric motors so that we can find out how is behaves in "Petrol head mode".

Why do you say "switch off everything, including the electric motors", Luw?

He's already driven it and posted a video too. Don't think it was completely full attack mode though.

So that we can get a sense of how the car behaves when it is raw and not tamed by electronics - not that I have anything against them, but I would like to understand the extent to which the car is calibrated to perform in symphony with the rear wheel steering, electric drive train and everything else.

Indeed, he did driven but it was on a circuit in an environment controlled by Porsche. Hopefully comparisons with the P1 or La Ferrari aren't far away. However we're getting into winter here in the UK and I doubt he would want to push machines that fast on a cold track.

But Luw, to the best of my knowledge, you can't elect to switch off the electric motors. So "hopefully" isn't going to happen.

I just had a read on the website. The car has five driving modes and all of them use the electric motors. Unless you are a Porsche mechanic and know the secret button combination to launch diagnosis mode where you can test the combustion engine independently - your propulsion will always be assisted by the motors.

Sorry if these are repost... I'm posting them because i see it in yellow color for the 1st time...(y)
