Looking at the picture of the car from the side it looks like a longer Lotus Elise!!!

It looks fantastic in black, although my favourite is the silver.

I can't disclose too much but Top Gear tested the 918 and the times are fantastic! Actual lap time won't be official until it is broadcasted.
I can say two things:

- New Top Gear record for street legal cars. By a WIDE margin :) Stig was amazed by the car.
- Jennifer (Jeremy) was very impressed even having driven the P1 on earlier occasions (hence the printing of the shirt)
- Driving in all electric mode the 918 was faster than a VW Golf R32 around the Top Gear track

Oh yea, and the McLaren boys did not show with the P1 as stated earlier...

^ you can run but you can't hide ;)

Can't wait for the inevitable tests. Should be this year.

I wonder if the reason McLaren and the P1 didn't show is because they already know the 918 is the quicker car on the track.:p

I really think that everyone has underestimated the abilities and speed of the 918, thinking it will be horribly defeated by the P1 and LaFerrari due to its lower power output and heavier mass. The tests so far have proved everyone wrong. If the 918 can pull 1.65g around some corners of the Nurburgring with 317km/h on the one straight then it will most likely give the other two a lesson learnt. I doubt the P1/LeFerrari will be any faster. Looking at some videos that have come out of the LaFerrari acceleration against P1 and also 918 up to 230km/h it looks like they will be evenly matched. I like the 918 the most cause it is the revolutionary sports car, it was first out with the hybrid powertrain, its styling lines are the most beautiful, the others have alot of fussy detailing in the looks and even the interior looks the best IMO. Others will probably disagree with me cause each person has his different preferences, but the 918 has really impressed me the most.

According to Porsche's own calculations the P1 should be about 1 sec faster. But who knows...and i agree with Rolf. The 918 takes the term hybrid super car a step further than the other two. A lap in all electric mode that's quicker than a Golf R32 is amazing.

just like the LFA, people underestimated it's power/weight too, yet it pulled a higher braking and cornering Gs in the corkscrew than a 458 (potenza S001 tyres vs 458s michelin PS) and a measured slalom on edmunds of 75mph (in comparison a GT2 RS did 73mph despite being lighter)

anyway, as far as the looks go i like the laferrari the best, but the design of the 918 is the smoothest looking

Not a huge fan of Ferrari's style in recent years in fact it's been quite a while since there was one I truly liked and the LaFerrari is no different, the P1 has a similar design style so not warming to it either. The 918 is unmistakeably a Porsche and where as the others are pin ups the 918 looks more at home among racers than road cars, to me at least its styling is perfection.
