Not sold on the looks but then again I never liked the Tweety Bird -look of the Zonda either. Still it doesn't really matter as the looks aren't the reason I respect Pagani.

BTW isn't this the first Pagani with a FI engine?

And I hate the rear too now - the flowery shaped black things on which the rear lights are tacked on looks bad. So does the side treatment. Hopefully better pics change my mind. But from what I can see till now, doesn't hold a candle to the Zonda.

My thoughts exactly. I hate the rear taillight "leaf" surrounds and the haphazard placement of the triple light roundels. They don't in any way build on the design language formulated by those on the Zonda - y'know: the vertically stacked arrangement.

The central spine leading down from the roof is a neat touch and rather reminiscent of the area-rule dictated features of 1960's jet fighters. I like the way it terminates in a jet plane tailpipe at the exhaust too. The nose is just awful - I recognise its aerodynamic significance - and the daytime running light strips look cheap.

I was massively fortunate to see that limited edition Zonda F Roadster (in that Cinque paint scheme with the red stripe running down the centre) in a Cape Town showroom over the holidays. It was parked next to the sensational LP670-4 also in a dramatic black and white scheme. The Lambo may as well not have been there. The Zonda was the most epic looking car I'd ever laid my eyes on. Quite simply beyond imagination.

The Huayra is not the follow up to the Zonda that I would have hoped for. I think it's ugly.

I'm sure the active aerodynamics will be spectacular to see in action. In the photo above it looks as if the outter wing is deployed at a lesser angle than the inner; my guess would be to give the inside wheels more grip around the turn??

I think the rear flaps works together with the front flaps as well, they are located on the sides of the pointy nose. The front flaps are at their slightly raised position on the very first leaked photo.

If Huayra is FI and not NA, then Zonda will sound better. At the moment the LFA is the best sounding car toghether with the Carrera GT and Zonda.

It's bi-turbo and it doesn't sound better than the Zonda. It actually sounds more like a high strung V8 than a V12. There should be a video of it floating around one of the C9 threads if not this one...

I love it! More modern and chiseled than the Zonda imo, with the typical Pagani proportions but without the slight awkwardness.

Side is more sculpted, I love the mean front with the black angry mouth, and for the rear I would only colour-code the "leaf-surrounding" of the rear lights.

Thing is... You all compare a poor low-res pic out of a scanned mag from the Huayra with bad lighting and in an average colour, to professional pictures of the glorious "all-carbon-special-edition-with-sick-colour-theme-and-goodies-nobody-can-afford" Cinque edition, the very latest and most extreme-looking Zonda ever.

The Zonda, before the 15th facelift and without all the carbon-modded bits, didn't look that glorious.. I find the Huayra more "complete" and mature design-wise than the Zonda C12 was when it was released.

While I may feel a bit underwhelmed by these poor quality pics, I think what Amaury says makes perfect sense too. When I saw the first iteration of the Zonda I didnt think much of it (aesthetically). However, over time with the several small changes over the years it just got better and better. Hopefully, history will repeat itself.

I reckon Zonda owners arent going to be in a hurry to sell their existing cars for the new one. Atleast, I wouldnt.....not at the current moment.

Yeah im just keepin calm as i have faith that in 3 days when we see real quality picutures..and in march when i see it irl it will be epic..
I have to give pagani the benefit of doubt, after giving us so much epicness over the last years
