GT-R [Official] Nissan GT-R NISMO 2014

The Nissan GT-R (Gran Turismo–Racing; model code: R35) is a series of cars built by Nissan from 2007 to 2025. It has a 2+2 seating layout and is considered both a sports car and a grand tourer. The engine is front-mid mounted and drives all four wheels. It succeeds the Nissan Skyline GT-R, a high-performance variant of the Nissan Skyline. The car is built on the PM platform, derived from the FM platform used in the Skyline and Nissan Z models. Production is conducted in a shared production line at Nissan's Tochigi plant in Japan.
I don't know why people are still skeptical of the GTR's times and performance, class wins at the Nurburgring 24h for this year and last year, Nissan knows what they are doing.

I completely agree with you! Company claims and times are better in many cases with other companies too... not only Nissan. The GT-R isn't too far from what they claim it's capable of doing and I'm sure it'll be the same case with the Nismo :)

Well, there was no other car in the SP8T class so of course, it won its class. :)

Overall, if you consider the overall SP8 class (which includes SP8T and N/A breakdown), Gazoo Lexus LFA won it overall consistently posting faster laps in every lap and placed ahead by 20 something spots.

No one can argue against Nissan being a road car primarily focused on great numbers, but endurance racing is altogether a different beast.

Holy smokes!! Time to rewrite the record books! A much-awaited machine has finally arrived. Can't wait to see the real-life numbers! (y)

The 7:08.679 Nurburgring car. The Nismo car you can buy next summer won’t circulate the ‘Ring quite this quickly. The so-called “Time Attack” car displayed in the camouflage has several additional upgrades. The engine is tuned differently with identical 600-hp and 481-lb-ft horsepower and torque peaks, but the curves are slightly fatter. The AWD system’s torque biasing program is tweaked slightly. The aerodynamics package also differs in a couple very meaningful ways that will likely erode that 0.27 Cd claimed for the mainstream model. The rear wing stands quite a bit taller; there’s an aero fence running along the rear edge of the hood, and the front fenders have little aero “whiskers.” Many of these upgrades will likely find their way into the Nismo Track edition (or whatever they call it), though it’s not clear whether the aero fence on the hood could pass pedestrian crash standards or whether the tweaked engine could be made clean enough to be legal.

That I didn't know....I suppose the marketing department is stretching the truth a little too far.

When I mention Nissan's participation in the race, I meant they are constantly gathering data and improving their car so it shouldn't be too surprising to see the time achieved by the Nismo version.

And why wouldn't it be available from the beginning ? is there an additional charge ?

Bad boy Nissan! Bad boy...

I love me a GT-R! So looks like its upto the MY2015 to crack sub 7 around the ring...

I'll drink to that!

When you see this GTR reach 310 on the last straight I wouldnt be surprised if Nissan had put 750 bhp in the car instead of 595... When you look at the history of Nissan and the Ring I wouldnt be at all...
