Speaking of weight, if the next M5 gets the powertrain from the XM......

I hope not, because the XM comes with a weak sauce engine with like 150 hp less than an F90

Judging by the GT 63 E-Performance, the next E63 will be a 2.3ton car. 300kg more than the current car, but hoping it will be over 800PS.

I am just imagining the brakes of these cars, and how the non handling will be. I suppose they will be kind of fun on the Autobahn, but really ONLY there.

The plastic part at the lower, underside of the rear bumper looks rather cheap. At this particular part MB should have just that thick, shiny and glossy plastic. Time will tell, but I already have a hunch it isn’t a S class alternative after all.
And even worse, fake exhausts.

Can't stand how MB allows its products to transmit this cheap look.

Carbon ceramics are mandatory, the steel brakes get cooked on a mountain pass.

A mountain pass with a tank.....sounds almost scary to be honest. These cars are going to be twice as heavy as an M3 CSL! TWICE.

And even worse, fake exhausts.

Can't stand how MB allows its products to transmit this cheap look.
The cheaper brands are able to produce higher quality looking cars, and the more expensive brands are producing cheaper looking cars.

As I understand, these are now called design cues 😉

You know what, Luke, now you mention it, you are right. At least regarding the more expensive brands, the two German big ones have some specimen in their portfolio to confirm this thesis.

Not even on the Autobahn. Because of their expected weight the suspension will be more than hard and the tyre sidewall will be unpleasantly stiff.

It is going to get a lot harder for them to compete in the market.

You already see it with VW. They are the first ones to lose their edge over the ‘cheaper’ brands.
