Automotive design is x times more competitive than 20 years ago. Back the, premium cars stood out because of their superior aesthetics. Today, cars by kia, Toyota, Honda and others brands look damn good.

Amidst the saturation there will be no mistaking the eclass from the rear - even from a far distance.

The new E class is a formibable car. I'll get used to the details and they probably will look much better in the flesh.

The W210 will be last and not 1st on the desirability list. It's my least favorite E-Class, the worst model ever and a disgrace to be honest for Mercedes. The quality issues were a shambles for the brand. In looks dept. pre–FL W213 and W211 are my favorites. Overall favorite is the W124 if older models included.

The W214 has a fantastic profile, happy to see it has typical E-class short front overhang. In both trim levels it really looks so elegant.

It looks lovely and stately on the move.

I love this new classic grill with the double horizontal lines, looks much better than the FL W213 classic grill.

Great compliments and words of love. 9 pages without discussion. This car has managed to stand out from the criticism that Mercedes has received recently in terms of design. I think it will get a solid place like w211. I won't go that far about interior design.

The W214 is fractionally larger than the W213 in length (+14mm), wheelbase (+22mm) and mostly width (+28mm). It is noticeably smaller than the W223 S-class especially length is 230mm shorter. Compared to the older grand masters it is still 46mm shorter than the W126 but is wider by 60mm and 23mm higher with a 26mm longer wheelbase. It is only 6mm narrower than the massive W140 S-class.

I never liked the 213. A weak soft front.
Post FL the rear came together well.
But a really weak E class now replaced with something splendid. I’m very happy!

Rear of 212 mopf
Interior of 213 vormopf
...and, finally with the "small" 656M, which obviously stays reserved for S and GLS
