The sixth generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class executive car is a lineup consisting of three body styles, the W214 sedan, S214 estate, and the X214 all terrain estate, which are vehicles produced by German luxury vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz Group since 2 May 2023.

Which will be a $160-180K E class. Let that sink in
Well Mercedes are alleging that the new E53 not going to be too much more expensive than the previous E53 - I think perhaps they've realised their mistake with their pricing strategy.

As for the E63, I think they'll do the same thing they've done here, rather than use the AMG P3 hybrid set-up, which I think should be well and truly dead. Have the 150hp/400Nm e-motor in the gearbox and attach it to the V8, with 62 mi of range, instead of the useless 10mi or whatever with P3.

But as I've said before, I think they should just make it a V8 non-hybrid with about 650hp, because they would basically corner the market entirely with the M5 and upcoming RS7 Avant being heavy hybrids.

Bring back the old days when the badge actually related to the engine size. An E63 with a 6.3-liter engine definitely sounds more beefier than an E63 with a 4ltr engine.

It would make more sense to name the E300 to E260 (relating to HP rating of 260PS rather than base only on a middle spec engine car). The E450 will be E380.

BMW 530i can be a BMW 526i lol. BMW 540i will be BMW 538i.

So using horsepower for badge numbering, then BMW and Mercedes will really have to increase the power of its models to match their badges.

The E300 will have a power boost to a 300PS engine.
The BMW 540i will have a power boost to a 400PS engine.
I mean you do realize you now live in a world where electric cars have ‘turbo’ in their name.. confusing doesn’t even begin to describe this phenomenon

Do we have to continue to read this bullshit in this thread? I have never read so much ignorant nonsense about design and sales. Will you guys please stop responding to this imbecile so he will go away.

The presumption with which this character walks around the forum with impunity insulting whoever he wants makes me sick.

My favorite “slow” Mercedes was the W124 260E. I just loved it. It used every bit of its 158hp to look the part.

Personally, I really like the style of this E53.

We all would have obviously wanted a V8, but times are changing and this is not the 4-cylinder of the C63!

I'm sure Mercedes would rather have done this too, as I'm sure BMW and Audi would also. It seems it just doesn't make sense once you factor in emissions regulations, and they can't really **** around with this. The moment they go 1g/km over their emissions targets it's a €52,000,000 fine, and the same again every gram thereafter, and for now heavy hybrids only make that target easier to reach.

I think pricing will be similar to the new GL53 with the same engine. What’s made Merc pricing controversial in 2023-2024 is:
-New models are 15-20% more expensive.
-Engines are downsized or hybrids can’t can be considered a downgrade in real life performance depending on your perspective.
-There’s a glut of new or delivery mileage EVs with superior acceleration for less money. Alternatively outgoing ICE models are superior value without lacking modern tech.

That would have the E53 starting at about £92k, and given the way things are priced nowadays, I would think that would be roughly the same in dollars too.
