For the first time the SL has proper competition. This car is an instant win.

This will be spectacularly successful for Ferrari.
That car looks like a japanese Ferrari.

who in their right mind would buy a SL65 AMG?

I think the initial press release photos shows the car in a very poor angle, with poor lighting, the same thing happened to the 599 as well. These newer photos are much better, the car looks more 3 dimensional, and the surfaces are more defined, thanks to the lighter metallic colour as well as improved lighting.I knew this would happen, initially people are sceptical about the design since a new Ferrari is a big deal but after a while people warm to it, it has happened with all the recent models. I remember how surprised people were by the looks of the 550 when it came out and yet everyone loves that now. Being a designer for Ferrari must be such a difficult job IMO as you've got all those classic models to live up to. This will be a huge success and hits a new niche for the marque (depending on final pricing). I must admit the roof is a big success and the metallic blue comes out much better on the metal.
I think the only things I would change is the door handle placement, the alloy wheels and those horrid stacked exhaust pipes!
Still don't like it at all. Overdesigned side with a weak front and a tacky rear.
Still not a real fan of the 599, BTW.
And I still find the F430 not really good-looking.
What is weird is the fact that I quite like the Scaglietti...![]()

If this Ferrari is right around the 200K mark who in their right mind would buy a SL65 AMG?
