Amen. Exactly my comments...it almost lives up to an imaginary 9 Series tag and this car is too good value for money....I still think the RR ghost would have better fit and finish and has the pesky looks but that aside...this is, as the guy says, closest to that in terms of a mass luxury car producer...

Although I'm not happy about the massive emphasis on comfort as this is where the boring territory starts as the more comfortable the cars get...the more artificial and disconnected they feel..but atleast its still a BMW and should have the best handling in the class due to its BMW DNA ;)
Yup, what surprised me the most was how good it handles and how composed it is on twisty roads. Comfort levels I already expected to be this good. I'd say it's the best all-round package in the luxury class. It does everything so well.
Thanks to its sportier nature compared to a Rolls it feels more like a Bentley minus the ultra luxury interior. It really is an achievement.

Forwardism Comes Home. THE 7

Looks aside this one is an absolute homerun.
Drives great, rides great, as spacious as a Rolls, top quality all-round.
They should've named it the 9-Series as that's pretty much what this is.
In a class of its own and dare I say a bargain at this price.
I think this guy might not be far off when he says this is the best luxury car this side of a Rolls.

I love the S-Class but I can appreciate what BMW did here.
You actually quite like the looks. The big slab side etc.

BMW i7 review (2023): an executive masterpiece

BMW i7 – Verdict
"On the face of it, the BMW i7 is yet another super-expensive, controversially styled, ultra-heavy EV that we’ve seen crop up countless times over the last few years. Yet to write it off for those reasons really would be an injustice of proportions matched only by the car’s radiator grille.

...

As a technical showcase it’s supreme, as a luxury car its bettered only by sister company Rolls Royce and as an EV it’s a convincing showcase for the future."

I saw one of these in traffic in Bucharest a few days ago and it had the actual headlights turned on. It looked ATROCIOUS! The designer must have been on drugs! Zero aesthetic sense! It's worse than the Bangle version.

Not sure what's happening these days, it's like a contest of who's making the worst looking cars! Isn't there anyone to vet these designs? It looks like the designers have a completely free hand to do whatever they like.

The 7er seems to be doing well, obviously, but more importantly still retaining driving dynamics at this level of comfort...for me if a car can't fulfill this characteristic at that price tag especially...walk away...waste of money

Im sure the electronic anti roll bars (alongside BMWs legendary suspension tuning ofcourse) played a big role in the drving dynamics division for the G11 and now the G70 possibly ..not sure..

This is a thread on MBworld from S class owners some long term owners of who have purchased the new 7 series and are very very impressed by what BMW has done with the new 7er .

I can’t remember another 7 series that was this well praised .....first few pages are about how ugly it is until they see and drive it . It’s a long thread if you have the patient or just skip through to the last few pages.

Its nice to hear that s owners are liking it but equally sad to hear that it took BMW to make a 'highly' comfortable 7er to convert those people...

For me those people have missed out on years of driving enjoyment/thrill! The E65, the F01...cars to be driven as opposed to be driven in...

I do wonder how sad this market actually is...BMW must of got a bit bored with this and the last 7er iteration in the suspension division...even like with the Jag Xj...a genuine need/want to drive it!

But it's business in the end..

From what I have heard, it has not lost its dynamic qualities and fun to drive at all despite having achieved the dreamed comfort, a great point in favor

You really must be joking to say the S owners missed something with the E65, F01... You must be living in your own world, total separate from what's going in the real world.
