I've not yet seen it in the flesh so can't pass a final verdict. That said, even from photos, I still get mixed feelings about its looks. Sometimes the impression of massiveness and overall on-road presence overshadows the challenging aspects of the car's looks (most notably the sheer bulk ahead of the front wheels) and other times it simply looks disproportionate.I've never been so ambivalent about a car before, as with this 7er. One moment I think "ridiculous, a real fatso and ugly too" and the other moment I think "wow, love that fat ass and the sheer size of the car". Must I pay a visit to a psychiatrist? Sounds like I'm a bit schizofrenic or at least confused (in a Burt way).
Who's to say it's wrong though. It may not be to everyone's taste or in line with more traditional paradigms but it's certainly not wrong.It's wrong because it is vertically down from side view,which even emphasizes the bulk the area creates.RR cars have a similar execution but the line is a little bit curved down to reduce the visial bulk.

Because this is a extremely unique car due to its length, front face, very high and 'kicked-up' rear and RR inspired height/vertical mass, some pictures do not do justice for the car.
I do admit, there are some pictures of this 7er where the car can look odd but the same view IRL would be a different thing all together I feel. All cars have some bad looking angles but the 7er design can look more strange in those angles due to the crazy height which just exaggerates those wierd angles.
The E65 has a lot of bad angles when it comes to pictures I must admit but IRL it looks great.
Why you do not share your feelings,........., I would like to know what you thought, I do not think I have read your experience regarding the interior and what you thought of the exterior in person

The car has a lot of presence. In the 'metal' there is a slight change in perception - some bits for the better, some not. The rear of the car looks much better in person, that's probably the biggest 'winner' in my humble opinion. The front, it doesn't lose any bulk, but it's not as noticeable how high up, and far forward it is. While I prefer the M-sport version, the black trim parts and the grille don't look so hot close up, it looks like if you pushed on it the whole lot would flex and creak... obviously it doesn't, but I can understand why people might think it looks cheap. It needs bigger wheels. The break in the C-pillar trim didn't seem as noticeable in the flesh, it's unmistakably 3 box, but in person it seemed to 'flow' better around the C-pillar.
For the interior - I don't like the trend towards screens for everything. For what it is, it seemed fine. In isolation I wouldn't say I was blown away by it, but having sat in the iX M60, iX1, i4 & M5CS at the same time, it certainly felt the most 'premium' interior - at least in terms of luxury - the iX was shit, simple as that, and the M5 CS was my favourite. Sitting in the back, there's definitely a sense of occasion. The big screen is pretty good, it is a bit like sitting in the front corner of a cinema, but actually it's way more natural/comfortable to watch than I thought it would be. There's ample space and it's more than comfortable enough. The screen for the door controls is fine, there were complaints about its response, but it worked fine for me - though I'm not convinced some of the menu navigation is as intuitive as it could be. The crystal trim is generally less distracting than I think people expect it to be, though some controls are integrated in to it, and they're not the easiest thing to see during the day. I'd prefer a more tactile control for permanently located controls - same story with the steering wheel, I'd prefer the thumb controls to be more tactile. Also, I'd prefer a round wheel, flat bottom makes no sense (it's still miles better than the iX wheel, which feels more like it's been used as the cheese in a cheese rolling event).
That's about all that comes to mind.
edit: I hate the door handles, and more than one person was made to look like an idiot trying to use them.
Do it, those time problems are your imagination.Now I'm eager to see and drive it, though I still haven't got much time... 1rst world problems.
