Like it or not, it is, in a word, sensational. I can’t wait to see this thing in the metal and on the road. It’s going to absolutely own its patch of tarmac - provided it’s in the right spec. Darker exterior colour schemes appear to be the way to go.
Obviously it’s controversial - no surprises here - and this is a design that isn’t playing it safe but, for me personally, it doesn’t grate like some of BMW’s prior “new grille” designs.
I think it’s exciting, polarising and interesting on the exterior front and, from an interior perspective, looks the part of a flagship premium product.

Wow! BMW is definitely being much more bold than their competitors. I took some time to absorb the photo's and I really like what they have done here. Side view is exceptional, rear end looks taut and the front is loud but not overly so. As others have said, very different look for this segment. I said very early on after looking at camouflage p-types that this had a Rolls vibe to it. I still see that post reveal, particularly in side profile.

For all the criticisms given and laughter I've had while going through this thread, I can at least say this car looks properly expensive. It's a statement piece that is for sure. Lastly, with all the unfortunate compromises involved in the design of this car, none of them hit the rear seat. The i7 is a proper electric German limousine for those that need to be chauffeured.

hi there! does anyone know if there will be a 4-seater version? I mean the one with the central console and stuff like the previous versions
thank you

Compared to the W223, the 7 is boring and fugly - specially because its so much higher (Domogoj said around 50 mm) because of batteries. The S-Class is sleek, elegant, even more sporty looking then the 7.

The 7 is not boring It's for that reason the styling has sparked alot of debate.

However to you it might be ugly but it's definitely not boring.

The S Class however is a bag of sleeps.

The S Class however has just been dethroned.

MKAY.

Compared to the S-Class the 7 has clearly no chance, it will be more visible in purchases for officials, here I can’t imagine anyone buying the new 7.

But BMW smashes the EQS in the EV league, I think even the bold styling fits well as an BEV.
Cleaning all the diamond trash I even prefer the interior over the opulent HyperScreen enviorment.

Swear Audi and BMW are in a competition to make the ugliest car ever made. Audi with it's Chinese garbage concept and BMW with this piece of shit mole rat.

And your thoughts on the S?

I need more time to process this but..

Exterior - Very clean bold lines, feels like it's carved out of one piece of Metal. Details look great in isolation but not so well executed when taking into account the whole design of the car.

Interior - In love with it, just the right balance between opulence/modernity.

I may be going crazy but I'm getting E32 vibes from the side profile/hoff kink/lower slung door handles.

Well its certainly interesting. I actually like the interior of the 7 with respect to the S. HOWEVER, I think the rear smart phone door controller is going to age very badly.

In terms of styling.

Domagoj dukec is a disease. Like the woman who pushed him out commited a crime against car design lol.

Only Stevie Wonder could appreciate this shit.

Perhaps a major factor that benefits the W/V223 is that it requires no "rhetorical gymnastics" in order to explain and thus attempt to promote its' exterior design. It needs no glib-infested explanations. It is a masterclass exercise in highly competent designcraft in all relevant aspects, whether it be its' architecture and proportions of which, the sculpturing of surfaces or the execution and application of sundries such as lighting units, aprons and skirts, grill and trim. There is nothing that will furl brows in apprehension. Everything fits seamlessly into creating something that could not be more stylistically wholesome. Very few current automobiles have accomplished this.

Add the rear view mirror to the list of things BMW drivers don’t use along with the blinkers.
I know that one day, you will write a positive comment, I don't know if I will see it but maybe future generations....
Btw I agree that not putting the blinkers is one of the signs of greater intrinsic ignorance and evident lack of consideration in daily life, in addition to being dangerous, but it extends to drivers in general

Never better said, I'm surprised by something, I was sure that it would look more avant-garde than the S-class, but I didn't expect it to be more avant-garde than the EQS and it is too, it's one or two steps ahead in the sheet metal work, integration and details, a bit of what the new Land Rover achieved with that overall ultra modern look in a subtle sense, this is 3 box shape in another dimension
