In defense of @klier, it is one thing to post that you do not like a new vehicle. It is quite another thing to repeat it at nauseam. Especially when those that are criticizing are smitten with a competing brand. It also happens the other way however, MB threads get littered with criticism from some loyal to their main competitor. How about we adopt a new unwritten rule, if you criticize, it's one and done?

On second thought, that might make things too dull!
Well, I think that one can repeat a bit, every time one sees the car because one really doesn't like it (obviously without exaggeration), but there is a difference between making the joke "the model is waiting on the stairs for her S Class" and saying (as I also read here) this is a Dodge, what is trolling for trolling

That's fair, and we call it out for what it is. Some of it is actually funny though, like the model looking away from the new 7er. We should have skin thick enough to take a few jabs too.;)

Exactly, it is almost the same to say "I don't like it" as to make a joke with height and that fulfills its objective of being funny

Still getting used to it. I don't want to get used to it, I want to like it at first blush. Even though it's an option, I think the grille light is so gauche and hideous.

... I think the grille light is so gauche and hideous.

Yes. And it's not politically correct as well, as it replicates an element of the old Metro Goldwyn Mayer signature logo. As an old avid cineast, I somehow spontaneously made the visual association.

Not a good source of inspiration in these hyper-sensitive times in which anything that could in the most remote manner be construed as not P.C. will be rapidly detected and ferociously condemned by the self-proclaimed "morally elevated". BMW, after all, had its' experience with the iX "Boomer" episode. Volkswagen with its' "Colonialization" episode. Easy prey to pounce on.

It must be bloody increasingly difficult for PR professionals.

Given that I can see the image that you posted earlier... that's still a hell of reach, and even more of one to suggest BMW would need to be sensitive to it.

Are we taking swipe a this feature because BMW did it first?

I wouldn't over think it, I doubt there even needs to be a reason.

Perhaps it is quite a reach, admittedly. We'll see if anyone else, elsewhere, has "caught the very same vibe" and presents it in the digital media. And of course, it would be interesting to see how much attention it may capture.

As mentioned, it was simply a spontaneous, arguably abstract, association on my part, drawing some sort of connection based on my affinity for automotive design as well as motion pictures. My mind wanders in odd directions at times.

...and in approx. 2 1/2 years time, something that (according to Audi spokespersons) looks 'round abouts "80-to-85%" like this will be making its' appearance as a production car:

The segment, in terms of design, will be getting all the more interesting.

Audi's conversion rate of wow-concept to production reality is very low. E-Tron GT wouldn't have happened without the joint-platform opportunity afforded by Porsche.

When it comes to low ride height vehicles, that is arguably the case. One reason that has me very interested in the production A6 etrons as the concept cars look great but the camouflaged mules tend to look surprisingly ungainly. The 'ballpark' accuracy of translation elaborated by Audi spokespersons and the German automotive media appear to lie between "95%-to-98%". Marc Lichte was quoted as stating "over 95%" on the etron GT. Certainly, in the case of the Grand Sphere concept, that "missing" 15% to 20% can make a very significant difference.

As far as the SUV/SAC segment goes, the translations from concept to production versions are a bit more accurate.

When I think of MGM, I think of the roaring lion. I can't really recall all the details regarding BMW-boomer issue (and I have no interest in delving into it) nor am aware of the VW colonialization issue, so perhaps I am not one to talk. But the BMW illuminated grille outline and the illuminated M-B star just feel like they are trying too hard. There's an air of desperation of appealing to a more youthful crowd. It's just needless, loud, and just plain stupid.
