Car looks like a different team designed the front and a different team designed the rear. Seriously wondering what’s going on with all the designers at BMW and Mercedes? Have all the good ones resigned? Who is signing off on this junk

exactly! The front where just too mich is going on with millions of lines, knicks…and then the rear totally clean. The car is a total mess.

Very very strange choice in rear lights. Identical to the X4 IMO. Would have preferred the IX styled lights. On weak part of the car.

Still very impressed!

BMW's and Mercedes will still sell the expected cars in a year,so thats the real deal i dont think they care so much for the design as long as people buy the car, everyone was calling the G11 with the big grill ugly but in the end it was a hit in the selling part,BMW and Mercedes designers will design something controversial to get more attention ,thus more sales, thats my opinion.

Thank goodness BMW got rid of the hockey chrome thing behind the front wheel well. It is gaudy on the present 7.
I like it, its different yet familiar and why it will sell well.

Remembered when the Bangle Butt debuted and everyone thought it was the end of the world. BMW went on to set sales records and is one of the most copied design features today. In a couple of years everyone will have split headlights.

For me the problem with this „power of choice“ strategy is shown clearly in the design of the cars. If you look at the 4 Series GC or the new 7 Series, they‘re just that bit too tall. It doesn‘t allow the designers to create sleek looking cars. The i4 is more of a 3GT and the new i7 looks like a 3 box X7.

let's wait for the official photos of the manufacturer.
the car will be highly controversial, I like the bright interior.

The 7 sets the design tone for the rest of the lineup, will the spilt headlights filter down or is it reserved for the top ranges only?

knock, knock who is there?
i
i who?
i f#cked up.

ps. At this point, I have to conclude, BMW is running a grand social experiment, trying to see how f#cked up they can make something and still sell it - "WTF, people are buying the 4er despite that grill! For the 7 let us f#ck up the headlights too and try".

The front is weird but not terrible, I think I can get used to it. I hate the rear though. Rear lights give me Asian vibes for some reason. Also the M-package doesn't add anything to the design language.

I think my hopes were set too high.
Same here.

I was hoping for something with G30 levels of elegance, but that could only be a wet dream.

Oh well, at least they didn't cover half of the interior with shiny black plastics. So far, that's the only positive I find.
