The BMW G70 is the seventh generation of the BMW 7 Series. Model codes: G70 (short-wheelbase), G71 (long-wheelbase), and G73 (high-security). It has an electric variant, the BMW i7, along with Inline 6 740i and V8 760i models. Predecessor: BMW G11. Production: July 2022-

Tbh, better throttle response just means you can drive smoother.
I'm sure there is an element of being able to put power down quickly in an emergency, but it just feels nicer.

If some fail to see, what a quick throttle response, or in this case a slow one, can mean in overtaking situations and traffic in general, my everyday experience tells me something different. But I'm not here to proselytize...

@bmwblog state "rumours" suggesting the B7 return at LCI time. Would be excellent if it happens, but I think that headline could be a bit misleading.

From what we know, it's coming. Of course, built by BMW, not in Buchloe. Also, there is no way BMW will wait a new generation of 7 Series to develop a new B7, one of ALPINA's only global products

Unless they ditch one of the current models it will be really interesting where they position it, M760e with I6, US 760i with V8, i70 M70 as a BEV... There would appear to be space for a 600+ hp V8 ICE based powertrain. Perhaps XM based, or perhaps the V8 from the B5GT will get a reprieve for a few more years and they'll use that.
Either way, I hope they don't just do it for the sake of it, if they're going to re-invent Alpina, they need to do it properly.

The rear wheel drive 740d is now available in an Indian configurator. Not sure if this model will made its way to the majority of European markets.

Interesting. I don't know anything about the electric charging network in India but reckon that diesel is a better choice for long distance travel within the country.
In developing countries it mght not be safe to sit charging for 40-60min in a super expensive car.
