Excellent collection of impressions, good eye to determine why to appreciate the concept, above all I like this quote that perfectly summarizes, covers and describes what I think, I see that in person it is even more evidentMy early impression of observing the G70 in person was a kind of positive and excited by how gigantic it is. For this event: Bangkok Motor Expo, M Sport package is an only display vehicle that is available on the show because for Thai market, Design Pure Excellence is unavailable which I presumably think most of the Thai customers are rarely choosing the Excellence look due to it’s reserved and conservative look (even the X7 does not have the Pure Excellence trim for Thai market). So whether you want a combustion+hybrid powered 7er or a fully electric i7, M Sport is a default choice and trim to go during this moment. I think the front end of the G70 has more definition than what I saw on the pictures-official press release and random photos which gives me a mafia vibe, plus the car is painted in black so it brings more of a sinister aura. Additionally, my thought on the dashboard and crystal bar sections were pretty good in my opinion especially the crystal bar where it does not bother me at all in case I am going to sit inside for a long day/distant drive.
My current/latest opinion about the G70 after witnessing it in real life:
-I wish I could have an opportunity to see the G70 in person again, specifically the ones that are painted in brighter exterior colors such as Mineral White, Oxide Grey and M Brooklyn Grey.
-I know from the get-go that this seventh generation of 7er is not an absolute beauty or a beauty queen in general since the spy shots/prototypes testing period compared to the modern day F01 and G11. However, it has a fierce presence and brings an attention towards the crowd (could be positive, negative or mixed) due to it’s massive body, bold wheels and wild features.
-This is the fiercest 7 Series after the pre-facelift E65 and G11 extensive LCI.
-Despite being a full size luxury vehicle where it needs to be formal and serious, I think the G70’s aesthetic has fun and carefree vibe it contrast to what this flagship segment supposed to be. (Maybe this is because I am still in my twenties (1er, 2er, 3er, 4er, X1, X2, X3 and X4 primary age range), the perspective could change once I hit my thirties and forties.)
