Until now, the compliments on things that matter and those that don't matter so much are general, they are the biggest and best I've heard about a 7 series in the last 15 years, with the plus that it dutifully destroys all of Mercedes' aspirations and arguments with its "dedicated platform" and egg style to leave it alone as a rotten egg, additionally to steal the limelight with its accommodations to the "comfort untouchable" S Class....

In some way the Theatre Screen Option is a bonus Not only can you watch Porn Hub in serene silence and high definition 8K.
You can also accommodate a showing of the latest opera. And the new i7 has been making the rounds at well known opera houses in Austra, Madrid and now Budapest.

The "drastic" downward line in the trunk that is expected in the G60, already has as a sample in the G70, in some photos it is more appreciated than in others (in the one above in matte black), it is much more marked than in the G11 for example

I sympathize with your sentiment, but nowadays tech is now the main appeal. It sucks but that's where we are at these days.
That may be true but most people don't even use all this junk in cars today. I mean a theater screen is the big draw in a BMW? It’s a sad commentary on “today”.

Now that I've spent some quality time with this car in person, I'm left wondering what has come of my favorite German brands. This car is just plain brutish to me and I do really fear it will look entirely dated in the not so distant future. It's too tall and all of the shapes and textures in the interior go from looking impressive at first glance to...somewhat tacky after time if I have to be honest. The i7 my grandmother ordered is a bit more restrained but even with the cashmere interior there is a confluence of shapes and textures that is unsettling to me. The range for the i7 isn't all that great either.

The EQS has its own barriers to mass appeal of course that have been documented thoroughly and often. Will Audi be lighting the way whenvever their flagship finally arrives?

This car is getting great responses left right and centre. The black grille actually look really nice in that colour IRL. Clean crisp lines and smooth body work.

Some things I think are really nice:

- M Steering wheel looks so good and attractive, toned down no drama and those 2 knurled knobs/buttons in different directions are a great touch
- Nice to see the turn / wiper levers are like the F 01 / G11. Black plastic (assuming good or better quality than G11) and looks traditional and grounded with that original BMW design insipired from the '90s onwards. They feel smooth and high quality in the G11...

The crystal trim is still the best feature of the interior and I think it might not ever look dated.

- Really liking the 'Low' interior and the closeness of the screen to aid reach obviously. That's a traditional 'close feel' design most Bmw interiors have, even in a lux limo.

The almost floating-like screen on top of the trim looks so oppulent and clean.

Funnily enough I actually like the speedo graphics - I hated it when BMW first introduced it but its growing. The design is very edgy and solid and similar to the kink - I can only imagine driving around a twisty road with that edgy looking speedo in front of me.

As I said before, this car seems to be too good value for money like the guy mentioned in this video. This is the G70 9 Series ;) not 7 Series LOL! i9 960e X Drive!!!

The range with those is 16.5 km WLTP
What a pity they have more money than brains, it looks like a carriage.

I saw a Tahoe with 24" (the first time I've seen 24" on something) and they were big on it, so I calculate that 22" is the size of the 7 series, we'd have to see how 23" goes (maybe I'll cover my mouth) , but it should be the perfect design .....

Dinner and dance?
The i7 my grandmother ordered
Grandma has it clear, you should listen to your elders ;)

Can you give more details about how you felt about the interior? For the most part, materials and fit and finish look good. The only thing questionable are two or three areas, namely the "crystal" trims and that silver metal-looking area on the rear passenger center flip-down armrest.

Sure thing. My spouse drives an AMG EQS so I also have that as a comparison if needed.

The materials, fit, finish are indeed great [and better than the EQS]. Everything feels price appropriate. What I don’t enjoy is the festival of shapes and textures that occupy every inch of the interior. Seeing silver trim, crystal trim, wood, black buttons, white leather, darker leather, and cashmere (with vertical and angled pleating on the same seat) together is a lot. It’s just not a very clean, calming look to me.
