S-Class [Official] Mercedes-Maybach S600 (X222)

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, formerly known as Sonderklasse, is a series of full-sized luxury sedans and coupés produced by Mercedes-Benz. The S-Class is the designation for top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz models and was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116, and has remained in use ever since. The S-Class is the flagship vehicle for Mercedes-Benz, being positioned above the other Mercedes-Benz models.

Its like Zack Snyder posting behind the scene updates from Batman Vs Superman to make it far more credible even though it has been and gone.

How about you just stick to the BMW forum and explain how credible BMW is when they do BS things such as blatantly holding off on LED taillights to give them something to update at FL time, or rave on about certain core values for decades only to do an about face because of 'marketing' reasons.

Took a look at the newly introduced Maybach S550 and, honestly, it takes away from the "exclusiveness" of the Maybach, at least in the States.

The selling point is 4-Matic, but why flood the market even more when the V12s aren't exactly flying off the lots nationwide unless offered with a discount, which puts pricing in line with the MSRP of the Maybach S550. The facelift is imminent and S-Class leasees are aware

Burmester 3D is now deletable in response to owners who require full boot space.

What!
Didn't they say they'll keep the Maybach exclusive to the S600's in the States?

^ Believe it was always planned. Dug out an article from 2014 with some early hints. The other one could be an upcoming Mercedes-Maybach S 650? :)

And more are coming. An S550 plug-in hybrid is due in the spring along with the Mercedes-Maybach S600, and they will be followed by at least two more Maybach versions, said Steve Cannon, CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA.

Perhaps they've had a lot of requests from people in the snowbelt for a 4matic version, and maybe the V12 can't be mated to the 4matic system within the packaging requirements of the S-Class.... just guessing to be honest. Currently the only option for a 4 wheel drive V12 Mercedes in America is the G65.. and that's $220k list.

.. plus, y'know, the more they lower the entry point, the more they'll sell and the more of a success it will be ;)

I really hope the change up the grille and offer more exclusive interior/color/material choices for the facelift. The S600 should become the S650 with the added power, just like the Cabrio. If only they would have given the S650 Cabrio a traditional/Maybach grille.

I don't understand why they dont just say Maybach, and S-Class and leave off the numbers. The V-12 then would get the extra "V12" badging.

Love that colour. Do you know if this is a Maybach bespoke colour @Wolfgang ?

Yes, seems it's bespoke. Was also available for example on some of the two tone 57 and 62 Maybachs. Here's a vid from the recent Detroit Auto Show. :)

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
