S-Class (W223) [Official] Mercedes-Maybach S-Class (Z223)

The Mercedes-Benz W223 is the seventh generation of the S‑Class full-size luxury sedan. Body Styles: W223 (standard), V223 (long), Z223 (limousine, Mercedes-Maybach). Predecessor: S‑Class (W222). Successor: S-Class (W224) [expected]. Production: 2020- Model years: 2021-
For the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, see Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223)
The W223 looks so good in those dual paint schemes that I wonder if it's time Mercedes brought back the regular length S600 and offered in the Maybach trim? I think some buyers who like the look of this, but don't need the back seat but want the rest of the Maybach package might go for it. That said, that red one is the one I'm most interested in seeing out on the road in natural lighting and maybe in person one day if auto shows ever come back.

Here you go.. I too love to see this in real life pic, this one is one of the best angles

I think this black & white combination is something which is growing on me, what does others feel??
To me the contrast is too big. In real life it might work, especially since you got the white bottom which usually makes the car look wider, and a black top, which shrinks it, so it might have an optimal visual effect which actually enhances the cars appearance, but I prefer any of the other double tone variations over this, and all of the monochrome. Those wheels are too much as well, so “look at me”

That would have been hot. We just have to face the truth, Mercedes is still scared shitless over the failure of the 57/62 to truly do a bespoke Maybach again. Something like that would been a winner and a SUV to match. You can still use the S-Class and GLS platforms, but with different bodies like they do everything else that shares a platform. Won't happen with an ICE, maybe there is a chance with an EV Maybach for the next generation since everything will be skateboard based.

...and precisely here is where highly attractive opportunities could unfold. Stand-alone AMG and Maybach BEVs'...sound enticing enough for me.

REALLY???

Reactions: Ozy
It’s like people deliberately search for things to criticize lol

I'd be steaming angry had I purchased such an expensive automobile and it was delivered with such unsightly workmanship flaws such as this. Man, I drive what many automobile enthusiasts would categorize as a "non car" (a 2016 KIA Sportage). The car has the part vinyl/part leather interior package. And nowhere is a wrinkle or misstitching to be found. And were that the case, I would hardly lose any sleep over it. It's an inexpensive, practical and rather nondescript piece of transportation. But when you're entering the mesosphere of automobiledom, this kind of stuff is beyond annoying.

In this case I really don’t know how many people will see that part of the car in those light conditions, so I don’t know. I would be bothered if the armrest, or the seats get wrinkles, like as I remember Mick has posted that there was a serious wrinkle near the back seat of the w223 where the doors are in contact with the body, that stuff you see every single time you open the rear door, that’s seriously out of place in this category, but I’m not sure about this particular problem. I saw this video several times, and it didn’t stand out at all, never noticed it, so it’s hard to consider it as a serious problem.

It happens that those who put it together did it via Zoom

REALLY???
The quality control has declined quite noticeably in the recent Mercedes. Our W213 has a few poor stitching on the steering wheel. The leather/artico stitching across the dashboard and the seats on a few GLE is very untidy as well.

I'm a bit concerned that under Ola Källenius' helm, the quality of M-B automobiles may suffer due to excessive bean-counting. Perhaps we are witnessing the dawn of an "Era Schrempp 2.0". The again, my concerns may be totally unwarranted. Still, Ola Källenius has degrees in international management, finance and accounting. And he is not an engineer, unlike Jürgen Schrempp. Could that make things even worse, I ask myself ?

I have similar worries as you. The appointment of production expert Markus Schafer as the Head of R&D gave me the impression that cost cutting will be the top priority going forward. The large amount of parts sharing of BMWs and an unexciting model line-up has its roots from the Norbert Reithofer days as the CEO a decade ago.

Reithofer is still the head of the supervisory board, which choses the CEO. The last two are just dummies following his orders.

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
