I don’t see where they’ve tried to be anything more than that since the brand was relaunched after the the 57 and 62 failed. It is a specification package not a separate car. Not sure why this is so hard for so many to grasp now.

The body design turned out great. There is a since of coherence about it, even in extra long wheelbase form.

The design looks incoherent to me, those triangular tail lights don't go very well with the various curvaceous elements. Also the headlights look very... underwhelming. They don't go well with a car that is supposed to look imposing!

The red one is just amazing imagine that red and the white interior its just elegance and class..I do like some of the two tone ot generally a fan of two tone...this is definitely better suited to the two tone then the previous gen..

The interior is beautiful and would love to drive in the rear compartment.

Love the New door opening a closing feature for rear doors .

Yes they could have done more to separate it from the S but I doubt they want that at this stage..with the changes they made they milk the money and increase profit while growing the Maybach brand ...

We will also probably have a EQS verion if your read between the lines of what OLA said today.

This is why Mercedes will continue to be a step above BMW and Audi IMO. This is such a well executed flagship, but this is the S-Class after all and Mercedes does not screw around with this car. The lesser brands should take notes.

Yes more bespoke interior touches would have been welcome, but they're just following the same successful formula of the W222. It's an S class trim level selected by 1/6 buyers.

S 580 4matic plug-in hybrid (367 +150 PS) (only for selected markets, market launch not right at the beginning)

S 580 4matic with 503 PS and 20 PS ISG (V8 M177)

S 680 4matic with 612 PS (without 48 volt ISG)

That red one with multispoke rims looks fantastic, but the 2tone gold and burgendy....mmmm not sure about that one

I like the 2 tone black and white, it suits this car very well, really classy.

Best seat in the house. I wish and so much wish Mercedes could have made the leather and wood unique to the Maybach, but they disappointingly used the same colours and trim as the S-class

The wood trim on the back of the front seats look so nice

I love the unique brake and accelerator pedals.

The center cap of the multispoke wheels looks magnificent with a sculptured 3 pointed star

I'll worry about that if the production models have the same issues (these are pre production builds). That being said, funny they didn't pay more close attention for the debut show cars.
