S-Class [Official] Mercedes-Maybach S-Class (Z223)

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, formerly known as Sonderklasse, is a series of full-sized luxury sedans and coupés produced by Mercedes-Benz. The S-Class is the designation for top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz models and was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116, and has remained in use ever since. The S-Class is the flagship vehicle for Mercedes-Benz, being positioned above the other Mercedes-Benz models.

Today I visited Mercedes-Benz showroom and came across couple of S680s. One of display is this dual tone, black/beige with 21” multi-spoke wheels. Other one was emerald green/beige with mono-block wheels. Third one was mono-tone pure black (non metallic) with mono-block car, since it was diplomatic car so couldn’t click that one.

IMHO pure black with mono block wheel is way more elegant & attractive than dual tones.

I have been to MB Dubai showroom again to pick Maybach GLS600 for a shoot.. but my eye is still struck on this S680 over SUV

But sad or rather shocked to see there is no dedicated Maybach area like for AMG in Mercedes-Benz showrooms. IMHO they should bring a more exclusive area for their superior sub-brand.

All-road Maybach?

I like the exterior styling and twin tone paintwork suits the Maybach S-class but I wish they could have differentiated the interior more and used different colour wood and leather compared to the standard S-class models.

Is superior leather the only differentiation between the standard S and Maybach trims?

This thing, even in a video, impresses, the redesign work is really good to lengthen it, it does not look like an addition at all, always to my liking with the polished monoblocks, like this and only like this it stands out from the S class and stands out a lot , so much that it almost seems unique without being derived from anything , I can not wait to see what they do with Horch and Alpina to try to reach it

A mild drop (like an inch) on an S-Class is aesthetically fine but if it's a ridiculous drop, I find that the owner is trying too hard to be a bad-ass. All that said, I'm too old to do any sort of drop on an S-Class. Besides, I'm bad-ass enough, no need to show off my bona fides. ;)

This looks quite stunning in red with chrome wheels

How’s this new colour

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
