S-Class [Official] Mercedes-Maybach Pullman (VV222)

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, formerly known as Sonderklasse, is a series of full-sized luxury sedans and coupés produced by Mercedes-Benz. The S-Class is the designation for top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz models and was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116, and has remained in use ever since. The S-Class is the flagship vehicle for Mercedes-Benz, being positioned above the other Mercedes-Benz models.
It looks odd.

Lying Scotty doesn't like a Mercedes.

Now that's a big f#cking surprise, isn't it?

Hey Lying Scotty, don't you have a false release date for the new M5 to post on the M5 F90 thread, instead of spamming this thread?

Since you decided to add to a post that was already very old.
I would say this is more a personal attack don't you agree?

Hah this car is insane, gotta love MB for doing what most others can only dream of.

PS
I wonder how scott would make a car of this size not look odd....

Terrible proportions beset this type of car, no matter the marque. Its finished beautifully, but the car itself looks utterly retarded... if I'd corrupted myself into government by hacking off the limbs of my adversaries, and their families, I'd definately be after a pullman.

W222 is an amazing design for having so many variations and each one of it looking very good. But the regular Mercedes Maybach and the LWB regular S are the best in appearance. This design needs extra metal to shine but Pullman does look odd from the front three quarter.

The only car that look not at all odd at the Pullman length is the original W100 600. What a masterpiece design it was and still looks better than all other large sedans IMO.

Agreed.

I fully agree that, I have never been a Pullman/stretch limo fan of any kind except 600 Pullman. None other limo has impressed me as much as 600 did. But among Pullman models 770K is another model impressed me, but AFAIK it was build only as a single model with hard & soft top options.

Any sales figures yet .....or are they too embarrassing to publish?

I still think the Pullman is the answer to a question nobody asked.

I, personally, find it difficult to perceive how this genre of automobile can attract the attention of a "car nut".

These types of automobiles strike me as being something similar to Snoop Dog or Floyd Mayweather contracting West Coast Customs to "pimp out" a Greyhound bus.

The SWB M-B W100 600 sedan was magnificent. Upon its' introduction in fall of 1963, perhaps to most desirable luxury sedan available. The Pullman versions were never really on my personal radar. But the SWB sedan...that was really...impressive.

@PanterroR

I m not angry but interested why do you think that acceleration does not matter? If shooting starts armored car needs to escape as quickly as possible.

Whatever acceleration it has, it won't be faster than anything fired on it.

Btw, what kind of acceleration you expect from this car?

Also, this is really not a vehicle suitable for daily use by most Heads-of-State.
Apart from the U.S. President, the Queen of England, some Sultans and Sheikhs, and a few third world dictators, which heads of State use such conspicuous vehicles these days?

This is a parade car. It just doesn't make much sense for day-to-day use in a modern democratic country.

Apart from that, it is a status symbol for those 'special' individuals who require that extra interior space to accommodate their massive egos.

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
