Official: Mercedes-Benz unveils 2009 SL63 and SL65 AMG

Why on earth do they have both 63 and 65 ? There hardly is any difference on those two!

And btw, I still hate the new headlight...absolutely horrible.

The interior though is absolutely amazing!

I really like this car and about the front it looks nice but its better to judge on real life in front of my eyes

The 65 is just for those who want the most powerful, most expensive MB and don't care too much about anything else (remember JC review of the old CL65, when he goes to the Golf club).

That's right! I would also prefer the sl63 cause of the better weight

Amazing picture, "BUT" why do they look EXACTLY alike????

I really wish Benz would add a little bit more design to the SL65. Extra stripes or something so I can tell the two apart. Other then the 6"5" and the V12 badge.

Either way the SL is not my Benz of choice like the S-class. Still is amazing car and better then it's competitors.

The 7-speed alone would make the SL63 the top choice, but this MCT version takes the new SL to a totally new level of performance and drivability. In 2004 I opted for a 7 speed S500 and never regretted not getting the 4-matic equipped 5-speed. The MCT transmission potentially could redefine performance.

Great news with the transmission and all the new features.

I'm still saddened by the headlamps, and now the new gills on the side makes me think of a tacky after-market tuner. Otherwise the SL63 is automatically in my top 10 must have cars. I think I would do a headlamp mod kit to get the old lights and the old gills back on the original SL though.

Now bring on the SLC. It is surely to have 65-level power and the new-fangled transmission, and a lot less weight.

The SLC will not have the new transmission coupled with the V12 turbo. Too much torque.

On another note, how absolutely magnificent do these two SL's look? Naysayers eat your words! Fabulous.

Please, somebody get us a technical cutaway pic of the MCT gearbox.

OK, I think I'm warming up to the front... after seeing more and more pictures I'm no longer hating it.

Let's see if in time I actually start liking it ?!

I don`t believe the SLC is scheduled to get a V12. It`s rumered to get either a blown version of the M156 V8 or use the old Kompressor V8. The latter I don`t believe will happen.

Yeah I too say the SLC will get the 6.2L V8 in a higher state of tune, like 550-575hp (which we know it can do with proper cooling) and a slight bump in torque and of course the new MCT trans will be there, it has to be. Won't make sense to use the old 5.5L V8 or the nose-heavy, low-tech V12. This is a Signature Series cars afterall, only the best will do. Oh and a price of about 250K too.

there is one noticeable difference, The bottom center portion of the front bumpers are different.

Very nice. Finally, a proper AMG dual clutch transmission mated to a 6.3L V8 to one of the world's most desirable roadsters. I'm impressed.
