S-Class (W222) [Official] Mercedes Benz S63 AMG (W222)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class produced from 2013 to 2020, serving as the successor to the W221 S-Class and predecessor to the W223 S-Class. The W222 has a similar design theme to the C-Class (W205) and E-Class (W213).
this may be a dumb question...but is the sport package front bumper on the US S550 the same bumper as on the S63 amg, apart from the extra flare vs. the S550's cross bar on the bumper?

A review by Autocar, this time driven in UK (so RWD version with Magic Body Control). Quite positive.
The Mercedes S63 AMG wants for nothing, although there is, predictably a myriad pricey options. But it is hard to think of the S63 AMG in pragmatic terms.
The truth is, if you want to travel in unparalleled comfort and refinement, then a cooking S-class, an S350 or an S500 would be slightly better. And an E63 AMG would better serve those looking for traditional super-saloon thrills.

However, the S63 AMG is simply one of the world’s best cars with one of the world’s best performance engines. And it’s hard to argue against it.

Mercedes needs help when it comes to wheels. I HATE those naked looking aluminum wheels! They may as well be the wheels from W124 300E.

M

They look great to me!

That said BMW, Audi and Mercedes have become far less imaginative with their wheels in the last few years. Just a couple of years ago they were knocking them out the park, BMW and Audi in particular.

I never realized the trunk base was made of CF, and it is weird to see such a car without a sun roof...

Let's hope they are shooting a review as we speak. Better yet, if they get their hands on a 65, they should make a comparo.

Another trip to Albania in the S65, Bentley Mulsanne, and the Rolls Royce Ghost. :D

That is, if they haven't been banned from entering Albania ever again.

TG will be crap, want to see Chris Harris reviewing one of these 63/65.

TG show us probably not going to be worth much as a review. They will likely just find stuff to make a fun script, and maybe Clarkson will make fun by comparing it to a house on wheels (comfort), try to fool its speech recognition etc.

Exactly I stopped watching TG long time ago, it's just waist of time. There are using that one script since day one.

5 stars in Auto Express after a first drive in UK this time:
The Mercedes S63 AMG is hard to beat as the ultimate expression of Mercedes luxury and performance. It feels better suited to high-speed cruising than tackling more demanding roads, but the incredible refinement and straight-line speed make it a stealthy alternative to cars like the Bentley Flying Spur. Although there are a few dynamic flaws, the flagship AMG is a mouth-watering ownership prospect – if you can afford it.
