This is what I’m looking forward to seeing now and test drives and configurator.

There's a camo'ed prototype in front of the S580 in Long Beach, anyone know what it is?

The AMG is way better this way than with a panamericana grill.
Also the Maybach will have the non AMG kit as base as usual, but as we saw on the w222 facelift and S coupe Maybach they used more unique bumpers. Hopefully they change that but damn, those wheels look hot, hopefully they keep them

Ghost :D

Ok, S-class is till the best one compared to the current Audi/BMW. But I'm pretty sure the upcoming 7 series will be better design wise. At least inside. They don't even have to try hard to be better than this.

looking at the new 4-series, I believe that BMW designers will be able to make the interior worse :poop:

I do tend to wonder whether M-B engineers invested everything and anything that they had when developing the W/V223. After all, this car represents a swansong. In perhaps 4-5 years time, we will be witness to what may be a massive reshuffling of superiorities in the luxury segment. M-B will fire the first shot with its' upcoming EQS-and they cannot afford to miss the target aka high segment presence if not domination. The introduction of BMWs' i7 will follow relatively closely, presenting a design architecture that appears to be more conservative. And then we'll see Audis' "Landjet Project" with which, according to innuendo, the company will abandon the "traditional" 4 door luxury sedan concept in favor of a more multifunctional "Sportback Meets Avant" theme. And not to forget what Porsche may have in store when the time comes to present the currrent Panameras' successor. We may be on the threshold of a major recalibration of the segment. Perhaps the most significant one ever.

Agree and should not forget Tesla, with such high end luxurious competition in the same price category they might introduce something that actually is worth the price.

Another developement I don’t like; offering extras in two qualities (“premium” and non-premium?):
- two types of HUD;
- two types of soundsystem (as we already know it);
- two types of light (multibeam and Digital light);
- etc.

Yesterday I sat in an A8 of a cliënt of mine and after seeing the W223 interior pics, it suddenly doesn’t look half as bad anymore.

That W223 interior is such a let down. It looks so unbelievably plasticly cheap and seems to age already. Perhaps in real live I stand corrected, but after seeing the FL E Klasse irl, I doubt it.
If BMW plays it right with it’s next 7er, they could really make THE Alternative...

I thought he only loved Korean/Japanese carmakers and dislikes all the others.

He will love anything that has a Kia or Hyundai badge or a Genesis for that matter. No, not the bible chapter, the Hyundai luxury brand that nobody has ever heard of.

I really dont see you problem here. This is classic german nitpicking.

Your S-Class didn't even offer a HUD as standard and when MB released their very first HUD it was just medicore compared to the competition. What's so bad about offering different soundsystems? I don't see anyone of Daimler's rivals offering the top-of-the-line solutions as a standard kid. That doesn't make any sense for economic reasons.
Multibeam was an option as well. The regular headlights didn't provide any adaptive high beam a lá Matrix-Leds.
The base trim was pi** poor. We all know that. The interior was a mix of plastic-trims that tried to look like real wood and "artico" artificial leather. That gave me taxi chills down my spine.

And when I have a look and BMW's upcoming design, not speaking of that beaver theeth radiator grill, I have no clue what sort of alternative that could be. Looking at the iNext and 2-series AT we know that they are going the same route by slamming a massive screen in the interior and adding some sort of Golf-8 air-vents.

German car design is in a massive change of paradigm. Don't fool yourself; we all know that big screens, glossy black paint and senseless "gesture controls" will be part of the future.

That doesn't mean I dislike everything. I start to dig that big center screen and 3-d instrument cluster. F#ck. I really start to like it. The seats are damn epic. I want one as a chair for my office <3
The digital headlights are killing me. I've seen various demos from different suppliers IRL. I would just buy an S or an E-Tron because of this tec. The chassis with e-ABC and 10° rear axle steering is out of competition.

Beige, grey, cognac, red....

This guy is a flocking d_ck. Not to mention all of his videos. He is that sort of grandpa that looks dissatisfied with himself and the world. So let's do some videos and moan about everything.
