Call me crazy, but this is my favourite modern S-Class. I like it more than the W222. To me it is everything a big saloon should be. It has the same athletic stance as the W126, W220 and even the best 7ers (E32 and E38).

No worries mate, I think we have different preferences, so I totally get you might prefer an S-Class that looks more like the W221 or the W222.

Last week I was in central London. As always, I saw several S-class including the W223. But I also spotted a few EQE. Against Georgian and Victorian architecture, the W223 looks objectively more handsome than the bloated EQE.

I know of owners who have battery problems. Almost on a daily basis the onboard system reports "low battery" or "empty battery". Rumor has it, the retractable door handles draw constantly power from the battery, if the key fob is near to the car.

It's a common sight with S classes equiped with the standard leather trim. It could very well be on purpose, by the way. I've read somewhere, that MB is considering this wrinkled, pleated leather as luxury. On the other hand, you don't see the same on S classes equiped with nappa leather, at least not in this way.

Crumpled leather was fancy in the 80s and 90s, e.g. in the Opel Senator B

W211 had it on the inner doors. My E320 CDI Avantgarde had it too and I quite liked it at that time.

Today I saw the new BMW 7 Series up close at Zurich Airport on the way to lunch. It was painted Frozen Pure Gray. He doesn't look so bad as I expected. And it didn't look that huge compared to the S-classes that were standing around it.
