Congratulations on getting a new S

. I’ve driven the facelifted W222 350d (with the I6 engine) for almost 56 months now and before that for 4 years the W222 S 350d with the V6. After testdriving a total of 3 W223 S400d 4Matic, I hardly noticed the extra hp and torque, given my driving profile. After all, the S350d already has a torque of 600 Nm. Driving at higher speeds at the Autobahn (200 km/h and upwards) you‘ll notice the extra power of the tweaked I6 of the 400.
Furthermore, a 350 weighs slightly less and there’s less friction because of the absence of 4Matic. Finally, the jump in price was in my case circa € 10.000, of which circa half of it has to be paid for an extra (4Matic) I don’t want; easy choice…
So does the the S350d. Testdrive one and judge for yourself if you need/want the 400d.
