There are people who's ordering it already, like it a bunch. IMO it's really not to my taste and the leather? grain is too rough for my taste, looks synthetic. Sorry, old school Nappa and Walnut for me;)

That's no leather, Human, but so called Artico (leather look a like). combined with Nappaleather on seats, armrests in between seats and doors.

Look at this comment on YT:

:banghead:
Hilarious! 7er rear lights have been hammered with a fugly stick...
222's rear lights fit the car. Everything flows front to back on the new S-Class;
from the huge grill and head lights, to the side character lines, even in the interior all the lines flow front to back... The 222 should not have huge honking rear lights, they would be out of place with it's design language.
I guess Bentley's don't have a premium feel to them either then, their rear lights are much too small... Lol...

That is why I don' bother reading comments on places like YT: too many opinion-havers, desperate to show to the world they have opinion for the sake showing it.

Of course, anyone can comment on forum (like GFC) as well - but all of us have one important trait which makes ours opinion worth (more, or less): we are interested in cars. We care about cars. We know (more or less) about cars. And - we discuss.

Regarding the 7, I must say I really like the way that car looks. It is not desperately pretty car (and no other car in this segment is, IMHO), but compared to the S Class, it is a bit understated. When the two are parked next to each other, everyone will look at the S Class (and rightfully so), and the 7 probably won't be noticed by lots of people. For me, that is an important trait. Think of this understatement as of Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation: beautiful, but not drop dead gorgeous. Very few people will actually turn around for her, and acknowledge her beauty. But she will still be beautiful.

To make myself clear, in my opinion, S Class is a better car, in almost every way (looks included), and it simply annihilated every other car in that segment, no question about it.

maybe u look at the merc coz its the never one?

every newer car has more likers, i mean when i go around with my w221 still people turn around, when i parc my f01 even in the "goethestrasse of frankfurt" and i return to it - i see always peops standing around and examining.

sure the s-class is new and beautiful, but it doesent lower the beauty of the 7s - and it shows me how ahead of its time it was when it appeared at 2008.

and not to forget i like your comparison with scarlett jo, she is drop dead b. :)

wanna drive the car, smell it, touch it and then i will tell you, until then the 7 is under my skin ;)

I always wondered why these cars don't have keyless go, but now I am beginning to think it is to avoid having journalists walk off with the keys. I know I've forgotten to take my key fob out plenty of times with valet..

At 5:39 in the video, its cool to see all of the colors changing, although being able to change the hue's of the colors would be nice. I feel like many of the colors I'll never use.

At 6:00 when the user is scrolling thru and you see the display show "locked" symbols, is this showing the door locks, or is this a locked function on the test cars?

I still haven't heard much about MBC on normal roads and how the suspension handles better. I read a review that it didn't work for road fissures and manhole covers. I am curious about the bad potholes in Los Angeles. Would love to hear if MBC can make these better, and highway driving, or if it is only useful if I want to blow by kids getting out of school over the speedbumps....(useless imo).

^ MBC as now deployed appears more like a Beta version. I am sure MB engineers will fine-tune it to recognize more and more kinds of road irregularities - right now it appears to work only on large speed bumps, which unless you are confined to parking lots, has not much advantage.

The only thing that keeps this interior off the pace of a RR or Bentley interior is the size of the seats. They're not as tall or as thick. RR and Bentley seats looks like thrones, and are likely more expensive to make? Some of the controls also reveal the S to be a mass production car so as you look at it there are small, but key differences. In this segment though, nothing holds a candle to the new S-Class interior. Only the A8 comes close..... Jaguar is nice, but outdated. BMW and Lexus are just too plain. Maser's new Q is way too cheap.
