S-Class (W222/C217/A217) [Official] Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class. Body styles: W222 (standard), V222 (long), X222 (limousine, Mercedes-Maybach), VV222 (pullman), C127 (coupé), A217 (convertible). Predecessor: S-Class (W221). Successor: S-Class (W223). Production: 2013–2020.
A similarly equipped S500 will cost HKD$2,600,000 (> US$330,000) in Hong Kong.

We get raped by the First Registration Tax in Hong Kong. Then again, maybe our friends in the United States are under-taxed.

The high taxes and prices don't seem to be an issue, the S-class is so common in Hong Kong it makes them look cheap to buy.

This "anti-export" rule, is this because of the price difference between continents?
I've seen the configuration of 714Merc for $120.000 on two pages ago. If you have to buy this same configuration in Europe it costs more than $210.000. Probably they want to avoid that one orders a car in US and then ships it to Europe.
Price difference is really huge!

I certainly understand why MB wouldn't want people to export cars from the US, but more specifically I am wanting someone that has purchased a car (particular US customers) to chime in if they were required to sign any sort of "anti-export" documentation. I had to sign this type of documentation for my 2013 S8, but for a 2013 Range Rover there isn't any documentation stating its illegal to export. Therefore, I can't do anything with my S8 but let it depreciate til my S class comes in, while I sold a 2013 Range Rover to someone in Egypt for 20k over sticker. I'd be happy to do this to my S class when the S class coupe is announced (since they royally screwed up my S class order, and I'll pass on the car if I don't plan to flip it)...as long as I don't have to sign anti export papers with MB...

Not exactly something I want to call up my dealer and ask for.

According to mb-passion the S65 will have Touch Pad and HUD as standard equipment. Further more, it has "Road surface scan" as standard eqiupment.

Sounds very promising :)

In my opinion, S65 front bumper doesn't fit to the rest of the car. It has too sharp edges, it's too complicated and it doesn't correspond with the organic design of the car.

Sport package and S63 is the same situation. But in S65 this feeling is compounded because of the chrome trim.

Simply, it doesn't fit to this CAR.

^get it in carbon or in the color of the body when you order it..no issues;)

But it is all about its design. Color is secondary.

Designers have "overdeveloped" the front bumper, and it doesn't fit to these smooth, organic lines of the car.

^wtf are you talking about? did you just go full retard? cause it was just a matter of time..

You were in the 99%s before..

If so let us now..so we can buy you a muffin..

Over the last week I've been seriously considering canceling my S550 order and upping to a S63. It looks so much less boy-racer this time around. I like vulgar styling sometimes but not on my big sedans. :)

The price of the S-Class differs from one country to another due to high local taxes. It's not MB's fault your government charges so much taxes on foreign cars.
It's also the local dealer's fault since in some countries there's just one authorized dealer in the whole country. You can't go anywhere else to buy the car.

IMO this is not true. Prices throughout Europe do not differ as much. And even if the US price is without any taxes and I add a normal European tax rate of approximately 20%: 120.000 becomes 144.000. This is still not 210.000. Moreover, we have at least 40 official dealers.

For all the buyers in So Cal, the next ship from Europe arrived today at port, 714Merc, I would expect your vehicle is at the port, same as mine. Should be at dealers by next week.

wow this is beyond normal, imo the best car in the world, currently.
