Genius! Maybach from Mercedes for a car that pretty much does not skip a single beat (Or actually, skips several: from X140 to X222). In effect, the upcoming car will have nothing lacking with regard to the odd Maybach, not in space, not in features, and remains to be seen how much daylight is in price between the two.

Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG presented in Salzburg -- Daimler

AMG announces twelve-cylinder version of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The S 63 AMG is only the beginning: the sporty Mercedes subsidiary AMG is planning yet another variant of the new S-Class. The more powerful engine will then provide even more speed.

No sooner that the S 63 AMG is brought the market we can look forward to the next model. "Next year, we bring back an AMG model with twelve-cylinder engine," CEO Ola Kaellenius said at the presentation of the S 63 AMG in Salzburg. The S 65 AMG is to be presented at the same time in November at the auto shows in Tokyo and Los Angeles, and should make 463 kW/630 hp and a maximum torque of 1200 Newton meters.

Until then, business travelers have to be satisfied with the S 63 AMG, the 5.5-liter V8 engine develops 430 kW/585 hp and up to 900 Nm of torque. Base prices range from 149,881 to 152,618 € either with a short wheelbase and rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive in the long version. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes as little as 4.4 seconds, and the top speed can be raised for an 3000 euros extra charge to 300 km/h, AMG continues.

Although stronger than ever, the S 63 AMG consumes less fuel: Its fuel consumption is reduced by 0.4 liters and is now, depending on wheelbase and drive configuration, only 10.1 to 10.3 liters (CO2 emissions: 237-242 g/km).

Who is it here that has the S class with the 20" rims? I want to know if the ride feels a little rougher....

Kratos, in a recent review of the S63 here in Australia they remarked that regardless of the 20" rims fitted to the car the S63 it still retained the 'worlds best ride quality'. The car was fitted with MBC.

For me isnt rougher than my previous w221 with 19" AMG. More firm, steady...not hard.

Its better in every possible way. But maybe someone else could think different....who knows....:D

I have the V8 but no MBC. And always Sport Mode.
