S-Class (W222/C217/A217) [Official] Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupé Facelift (C217) 2017-

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class. Body styles: W222 (standard), V222 (long), X222 (limousine, Mercedes-Maybach), VV222 (pullman), C127 (coupé), A217 (convertible). Predecessor: S-Class (W221). Successor: S-Class (W223). Production: 2013–2020.
Oh, quite nice, of course.

But after having seen the most recent photographs on the CLS III thread, I have a hunch that I will perceive the new CLS as being "the prettiest" M-B .

"Sorry, old girl C217...Even with a facelift, you're beginning to get on a wee bit."

New AMG grill with vertical bars is horrible. The front looks quite bland with it and only single horizontal bar grill gives it proper agressiveness. Facelifted rear lights graphics works pretty fine. But the main problem with this car is that it still cannot be compared to its wonderful predecessor - C216.

One of the coldest cars ever created.
Nice update to.. love the New Amg grill

One of the worst Mercedes-Benz facelifts ever... The Panamericana grill for the AMG versions looks absolutely displaced and ridiculous. The AMG-line grill looks much better on the S Coupe and S Cabrio, than the Panamericana grill. It suits the AMG GTs etc., but not on a S-KLasse, please. And why not the I6 petrol, but still the old V6? OLED rearlights.... swell
Last, the new steering wheel, doesn't fit the sedan, it doesn't fit the coupe/cabrio either.
@collectors and connaisseurs, get a pre FL before it's too late...

I think it's a perfect face lift.Love the new AMG front.
Can't wait to see those new rear lights on the road ..

One of the coldest cars ever created.

An interesting perception.

I find the C217 quite the opposite. A car with a character that I could best describe as "Rubenesque, perhaps baroque, rather than razor-edged technoid. Voluptuous rather than wiry. More boudoir than Apple store."

I can certainly understand its' appeal to many who frequent this segment of the market. But, for me, the new Bentley CGT is a very "real deal". And the most recent photographs of an increasingly uncladed BMW 8 series have my anticipations high.

And that's only one of the reasons, why the Panamericana grill looks absolutely absurd on the coupe/cabrio.

Of course such a beautiful car only needs minor tweaks and I think they are done with great effect..even the E Class sport bumper looks pretty nice on the S Coupe compared to the S Saloon. The AMG Panamericana grill is a bit strange on a luxurious Coupe but still looks intriguing nontheless. Overall it's got all the tech now which it was missing so it is a more complete package, btw S560 Coupe sounds ultra cool:cool:

Can someone explain to me if there has been any optical update to the headlights ?

Erm, YES. The new grill for the full blown AMG was much needed, thanks god they got rid of that old one that was used from the a class upwards.

Interesting, that's quite rare. I assume they just replaced the LED lens part with the higher definition one from the E and S ?
MB Passion Blog doesn't mention any changes regarding headlights at all. Many Blog participants at MB Passion Blog and at Motor-Talk are ranting about this issue (apparently no optical changes of the headlights).

If I could give you two "Agree"-ratings, I would. The S Coupe is my favourite MB atm by far, and the Panamericana grill just doesn't belong here. As for the OLEDs, I prefer the clean design of the pre-FL...
