I know...an older video...

THIS is quintessential C217 S-Class:

I don't know what is the right answer...
There is no right answer, because it all comes down to personal taste. For me a S Klasse doesn't need to look agressive. On the contrary.

Welcome to the new Kardashian way of life.
Well, I guess that it is.

Yes. And that "Yellow Night Edition" model embodies my personal perception of the phrase "the cost of purchase does NOT guaranty CLASS". Pretentiously juvenile.

And yet, M-B market strategists are certainly no fools and I assume that they are convinced that the above mentioned or similar specification will find eager takers. Whether the character of elegance is diminished or not will be a consideration inferior to that of monetary revenue.
All is true. Mercedes-Benz sees bigger opportunities (= € $) in other, non-European markets, with their design language, as shown on the "Yellow Night Edition" model. I don't even blame them. It only makes me kind of sad...

The positivity in the thread is overwhelming...

The night edition is over the top, but if you've been keeping track you'll know that every new AMG model has had this combination as a limited launch edition since late 2014. AMG DTM colors.

It's nice to see the folks who didn't like the S coupé in the first place here giving final judgment after long deliberations.

Are the new headlights multibeam ? I find it hard to believe they may have left those out ?

I will never understand why they didn't launch the S450 Coupe with the new I6 instead of that old V6. What the hell.

At least for the U.S market it won't be a topic of conversation since it's not coming state side.

MB engineers must have some sort of sentimental attachment to the dinosaur V6; they won't retire it completely for another 3 years or so.

Oh, these "Edition" launch specifications can be quite acceptable on W/S/C 205 C-Class models and AMG GTs', not to mention AMG versions of the A-Class cars.

I'm surprised practically nothing was done with the headlights. I guess I should've expected this given the Coupe/Cab are relatively low volume models.
I guess the E-Klasse gets it because it shares the exact part with the sedan. Either way I find it really silly, Multibeam would have been more useful than those new OLED rear lights. It's part of their entire 'intelligent drive' concept.

The E-Coupe has better lights than the newer S-Coupe facelift. Let your mind process that.

The s-coupe sales volumes probably didn't warrant the engineering expenditure on new headlights.

S63 AMG Yellow Night Edition1. Looks more aggresive IMO.

It's absolutely not for me, but I guess the whole point is that MB is covering all bases. There's young guys with the money who want their S coupes ridiculously over the top and there's others who will opt for the more restrained variants. Why should MB lose the sale to the former client?

Move with the times fellas. 30 year old's can buy these things now and they don't want grandpas car.

One look at the new Roll's Royce and you can see what's considered 'good taste' is rapidly evolving.

While not being a fan of "frost effect" paints, I do find this particular car quite tastefully modified.

The 21" rims suit it well.

Different angles, but still... I don't know. The pre-FL was absolute perfection. Give me the facelift interior and pre-FL exterior and I'd be the happiest man alive.

And that's only one of the reasons, why the Panamericana grill looks absolutely absurd on the coupe/cabrio.

Couldn't agree more. With the sedan, they ruined it with the headlights, now they ruin the coupe/cab with the grille.

Have you guys seen the Panamericana grill in person? It's much more subtle than photos suggest.
Yes, on the AMG GTR. Looks perfect on it, no so on the S63's. Or the GT-C.

Should have just given it the one from the E63.

I heard through the grapevine that next summer the E63 will get the Panamericana grill and new AMG steering wheel. Curious to see how that'll look.
