Yeah, if I had to pick one EV it would most certainly be the G580.

Also helps it's the ultimate bargain here in my country because of the EV laws: A G580 is from 150k Euro here, while the cheapest ICE G class is from 200k, the G450d.

G580 (150k) 4.7 seconds 0-100
G63 (310k) 4.4 seconds 0-100

I would love nothing more than a real G63 with V8, but it's just not worth it here. The price is just batshit lunatic.

A huge departure in tastefully designed trim compared to the typical Pimp-Wagon it became.

I wish it would get a more utilitarian interior though, without all the ambient crap but focusing in durable and timeless materials.

Nah, it's just as durable as anything else, and if you want utilitarian I guess the Land Rover Defender is a better pick.
I really dig the rugged exterior with plush interior, it's a G Wagon trademark.

Also wonder what you mean with timeless materials. The quilted fabric seats look pretty damn timeless to me.

Yupp. This is stealth luxury. Enjoy a G-Class without being mistaken for a prick. The colours makes the car look approachable, charming and fun.
