G-Class [Official] Mercedes-Benz G-Class Facelift (W463)

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, colloquially known as the G-Wagon or G-Wagen (as an abbreviation of Geländewagen), is a four-wheel drive luxury SUV manufactured by Magna Steyr (formerly Steyr-Daimler-Puch) in Graz, Styria, Austria, and sold by Mercedes-Benz. Originally developed as a military off-roader, later more luxurious models were added to the line. In certain markets, it was sold under the Puch name as Puch G until 2000.
This is the current car, we can see the free standing screen when prototype have similar setup to the W222/W213.

I can't wait to see more of the interior!!

Don't like the grille and shape above the headlights in that render. But it's off anyways, so no worries.

Yeah buddy, that look good. Sales are going double because it will vastly more practical, easier to drive and live with, but it keeps that classic look and layout. Brilliant job by Mercedes-Benz.

I feel so good and happy reading and understanding about the W464 G-class. How ever I strongly feel that Gordon Wagner has to direct his team to design a matching outside rear view mirrors, preferably a boxy one like the pic below. That would suite the car better and give a better view as its a taller car. No matter how many camera you have to give any 360 degree view, I personally feel rear view mirrors play a key role give a macho look. Since they were kind enough to retain the same classy design, let them also make a matching mirror.

Having said this, I also dis agree with Merc's design philosophy to follow same sedan mirror for large SUVs. They have to introduce a new one soon for the next gen SUVs.

I made a comment about this in a different thread. It seems the SUV's (GLC excepted) are retaining the current mirror while all sedans, coupes, and convertibles are switching to the S-class mirror.

I have a 2017 G500 on order, delivery Nov/Dec 2016.

The only update I noticed was, Car Telephony (Code: EG1)

The infotainment screen seems to have gotten wider with a minor facelift + UI updated closer to the S Class.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think the Rear View Camera now has a higher resolution compared to my 2016 G-Class.

Front parking sensor display has grown bigger too.
