The E350d has been taken out of production. Not on sale anymore in major markets.
Probably because of it's a cheating piece of hardware.

Only in Germany though, sales is as per usual in Australia, not a single notice from MB Australia.

No, not only there. Holland too, and Australia and some other markets might be delayed. It takes a while for news to get there on the other side of the world, and a pigeon can only fly so fast...

The E350d got a new NOx-Converter in May and July and the recertification takes serveral month. According to the fleet-manager at my job the E350d will be back in store in September and being replaced with the OM656 in the second or third half in 2018.

That is still a long wait til the new engine is available for the E class, was hoping it will happen at the start of 2018.

• In summer 2018 will be available engine R6 M256 in E Class (the same one who is in S450 and S500)
• In 2018 in Saloon and Estate E Class will be available engine R4 M264 (available in December 2017 in E350 Coupe)

I would bet money that the E400 will become the E450 with the I6 with about the same hp, around 367hp. The E53 is the one I'm waiting for. Lord this change can't come soon enough. I need Mercedes to quit playing catch up and knock out in the engine room.

I do not have new information about new diesel engines in E Class, but I will try to find out.
Generally diesel will be replaced by electric motors and new petrol engines with 48V installation (RSG or ISG).

Ok, so probably engine OM 656 (R6-diesel) will be available on MY 2019 (summer 2018) in E Class.

To my knowledge the facelift will be in 2020 (MY2021).
