E-Class (W213/C238/A238) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213

The Mercedes-Benz W213 is the fifth generation of the E-Class range. Body styles: sedan/saloon (W213), wagon/estate (S213), long wheelbase (V213), coupé (C238), cabriolet (A238). Production: 2016–2023. Predecessor: W212 E-Class. Successor: W214 E-Class, C236/A236 CLE.
I was just wondering because people here appear to make a big deal of the differences between a so called standard spec and fully specced car. The E is brand new, I have never seen one, and I don't know this yet.

I do know the difference between a standard 5er and fully loaded 5er (think alcantara roofliner, fully leather dash, fine wood/carbon, biggest nav, etc) is pretty significant. Those differences will likely be the same on the E, plus the fact the the two giant screens make a huge impact, and not having them in a standard car will feel awkward. So the differences will be even bigger for the E.

Most dealers here in the U.S. have top spec cars the only thing is they but they don't have as much like the C400 for example, they have like 1 for every 4 C300s.

Is there any word on a E400 for the U.S. market? I think the gap between the E300 and the E43 is just too much. You either get a 4-cylinder with 241hp or a nearly balls out E43 AMG with nearly 400hp. Seems like a 329hp E400 in both sport and luxury trims would be perfect in between.

The AMG E63S is going to be a demon of a car, I am reckoning this time they will make 4WD standard on both AMG E63 models as I am sure this was more popular than the RWD version in most markets as it provides much better all weather traction and also still has a wonderful RWD type balance as about 65% or more of the power is normally transmitted to the rear axle.
Estimated performance figures:
E63 S:
0-100km/h in 3.4sec (current W212 3.6sec)
0-160km/h in 7.0sec (current W212 7.6sec)
0-200km/h in 11.0sec (current W212 11.8sec)

The new 9 g tronic in the amg model will be magical in improving acceleration to higher speed.

MBUSA says the autonomous E is to arrive in June. :)

Mercedes new E-class which will begin selling in June is licensed for autonomous driving in Nevada, Exler said. "It’s a production car,” he said. "It’s not the Silicon Valley cars with 15 sensors on top that look like (they're) from Mars.”

A world of fully autonomous vehicles cruising around cities with no one in the driver seat, however, will have to wait until industry regulators catch up, Exler noted.

"Our cars — the E-Class and S-class — can do autonomous driving today,” Exler said. "The law does not allow us to do it.”

Wait wait wait, how come this one has the seat adjustment switches on the side of the seat and not on the door?? Look at the bottom of this photo...........

Standard at the W212 were semi electric seats. They have the switches on the seats.
Only the full electric option has the switches at the door.
I assume this will be the same with the W213.
