E-Class (W213) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213

The W213 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the fifth generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, sold from 2016 as a 2017 model. It succeeded the W212/S212 E-Class models. The coupe/convertible models share the same platform as the sedan/wagon, in contrast to the previous generation. The high-performance Mercedes-AMG E63 and E63S versions of the W213 have been available as well from 2016 (as a 2017 model), and these are the only versions with V8 engines.
Wow mega powerful and full of gut wrenching torque both cars. 850nm, holy cow!

freakin hell 600hp plus E63.. crazy

M5, M6 RS6, S8 (RS7?) are all at the 600 hp mark already.
But standard 600 hp + is the new bar I guess. This will be good.

Does it really say 3.5 seconds 0-100 km/h for the E63 S? Sweet Lord...

in fact all these engine have been producing more than what they are claimed to produce

Yes true, I cant wait for ABSC to take them to the dyno, they will probably hit the 650PS mark for sure.

@klier the American saloons are already hitting 645 to 700PS (Hellcat is 717PS), so 600PS from the German saloons is a must. But I reckon the new E63 S will kill the Hellcat in a drag race, holy cow 3.5sec is F*)ken blistering.

These things are already so quick...
I wonder how much boost that thing is running now. It's making more hp and torque than the old model which had 1.5 more liters of displacement.

So does the W212 E63S infact it has more hp than the M5 competition.
But this is if true is even more.. and once again the V12 from AMG seems like a bad deal.
They need to up it to 700hp or get rid of it, ain't no one in their right mind paying nearly double for 20-30 hp

BMW has the 30 jahre version with 600 hp, and I believe the M6 CP is standard 600 hp now. But like said much of this is marketing as they all make more power than claimed.

And a V12 is still a V12, and in characteristics IMO vastly superior to a V8 even when equally powerful.

The thing here is that the current E63, M5 and RS6 meant a very discrete push in terms of power. Nothing compared to things like the E60 M5, which looked like a monster when it debuted (I still remember the glorious press pics).

This E63 has still a very discrete increse in power compared to the current car. 30 PS? BMW did the trick with the 600 PS M5, which is what the car should have gotten in the first place, not 560 PS. Current rumors talk about a F90 M5 with 626 PS. I do believe the car should have 650 PS instead, or even closer to 700 PS.

So no, IMO this figure is not suprissing, the top performance cars from Germany have been slow in terms of increasing PS figures. Cars like the M3, RS5 and C63 should be all in the 500 PS mark, and the F10 M5, E63 and RS6 in the 600 PS mark. With the W213 E63 and F90 M5 closer to 700 PS than 600.

But hey, I am just a fan, maybe an engineer could provide some figures that destroy my wishes.

The back seat looks tight to me. Will it be comfortable sitting at the back?
The one AB journo (who is 1.95m tall) managed to sit in back seat of E-class without his legs touching the front seat, so its more than spacious inside in the back seat.

Will see it live next week here in Norway. But it seems with "rounder" design you get less space inside - compared to the more angular design.
Example 210 and 212 - straight lines
211 and 213 flows rounded interior.
The 211 always seemed tighter than 212 and 210.
