The Mercedes-Benz W213 is the fifth generation of the E-Class range. It succeeded the W212/S212 E-Class models. The coupe/convertible models (C238/A238) share the same platform as the sedan/wagon, in contrast to the previous generation. Production: February 2016–2023. Model years: 2017–2023.

The new E-Class has numerous security systems for the vehicle occupants , but also a wide range of airbags in the interior. In addition to the front airbags for driver and passenger ( Driver side with 2-stage , zeitversetzer tripping , ne after sensierter severity of the impact ) , front sidebags (combined thoraxPelvisbag ) for the protection for the upper body and pelvis , also windowbags between the A- and C-pillars for the head area of the driver and passenger and the outside seated rear passengers .
The driver kneebag can protect certain types of impact in the knee contact area of the instrument panel and stabilize the entire upper body , whereby the occupant movement is positively affected in an accident . Rear sidebags can parallel the upper body of the seated outside Fond passing protect (I.V.m : Fond security package ) , Beltbags in the seat belts on the outer rear seats can the burden of Brustkrobs in a frontal impact to reduce ( Fond Safety Package ) .
he following measures for a high structural safety of the new E - class flow in the shell with a (which was partly visible within the E-Class concept from Mercedes-Benz on the cutaway model :
Body structure with deformation zones in the front and rear ,which can absorb energy in an accident highly stable cross-links in the front and rear can redirect energy to the shock Rear facing at an offset collision ( Crash Offset )
very stiff passenger cell from most and ultra high-strength steel sheets and sheets with graduated wall thickness ,matched to the deformation resistance of the front-end structure for a homogeneous load distribution and high energy absorption in the event of a collision
large deformation of the front due to an integral support which also absorbs energy in an accident , the longitudinal forces forwards in a frontal crash directly into the soil structuretelescopically deformable steering column is part of the restraint system , and can provide additional occupant forward displacement in a severe frontal collision available

If this E43 AMG is replacing the V8 E500, it's missing some power I'd say. But I also say it looks fantastic.
The gap between E43 and E63 will be close to 200 hp

Mercedes-Benz Thailand has just revealed its pricing for the new W213 Mercedes-Benz E-Class range ahead of the model’s local debut at the 2016 Bangkok International Motor Show.
For now, just two variants of the latest-gen E-Class have been named, being the E 220d Exclusive Line and the E 220d AMG Dynamic Line (a Thai-specific designation, which we assume is a localised term for what we commonly refer to as the AMG Line).
The E 220d Exclusive Line is priced at 3,999,000 baht (RM467k) while the E 220d AMG Dynamic Line is listed at 4,790,000 baht (RM560k). For our Thai readers, you should note that these prices are for the initial units of the imported (CBU) W213 E-Class only — once local assembly begins, these prices are expected to be reduced.

Another forgotten gem from AMG, the E50. Only built in model year 1997, with around 2870 units. The car was optionally available with 6.0 liter V8 with 381 hp, and even a 6.2 liter V8 with 405 hp. 0-100 km/h times went down to 4.9 secs and 4.7 secs, and both were named E60 AMG.

Mercedes E 55 AMG (W210)
The first E class AMG built in real large numbers, circa 12.000 in total. The famous 5.439cc engine was without supercharger in the W210. Up until the facelift the car looked the same as the E36, E50 and E60 AMG, after the facelift the car got rounder skirts and bumpers.

Mercedes E 55 AMG (W211)
The W211 generation E class got the same 5.4 liter engine as it's predecessor, but this time a Lysholm-supercharcher from IHI was fitted. In the E55 AMG good for 476 hp, and in the SL55 AMG 517 hp.

Mercedes E 63 AMG (W212)
Same name, completely different engine. Up until now, the engine capacity and name of the car was always the same, but from the E63 AMG in 2011 that changed. Because of emissions the 6.2 liter NA V8 was replaced by a twin turbo, 5461 cc V8. Power was exactly the same as before, but the car was still 0.2 seconds faster from 0-100 km/h

For the first real W213 AMG we have to wait a bit longer, but the E43 AMG is there already. Below the hood we find a 2996 cc V6, with two turbos and 401 hp. Power wise this new car sits neatly in between the E55 AMG with and without supercharger, and it's faster 0-100 km/h than the E55 AMG WITH supercharger. The first E class AMG that can only be had with the AWD system (which was already available on the W212 S AMG)

There are more E AMGs, AMG Hammer W124, E55 AMG 4matic W210, E60 AMG W210 etc.
Pretty impressive, the new E400 is as fast as the previous 408hp E500 from 0-100km/h. The newer 9 speed gear change does seem smoother and slightly quicker.
