E-Class (W213/C238/A238) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213

The Mercedes-Benz W213 is the fifth generation of the E-Class range. Body styles: sedan/saloon (W213), wagon/estate (S213), long wheelbase (V213), coupé (C238), cabriolet (A238). Production: 2016–2023. Predecessor: W212 E-Class. Successor: W214 E-Class, C236/A236 CLE.
Given the 14 year gap in development, the W211 is still holding its own quite well in terms of overall comfort and refinement. The interior quality is actually better. Over 13 years of driving and it is still rattle free, not a single squeak from the suspension or from the door seals. It still drives and ride unbelievably smoothly. Every time I drive th...

Actually the W211 was ‘small’ comparatively. Per my understanding, at least the cabin was more compact than the W210. Plus it’s gorgeous silhouette makes it the best proportioned E class after the W124 up to this day.

If you were to line up all late model BMWs, Audis and Mercs from the late 90s onwards, it is difficult to guage their vintage :)

Ok ... so a full confession. As most of you know I am a diehard BMW fan and have owned multiple cars over the last 10 years, but it may be time to try something different. What made me change my mind? Read on....

I had driven the 540i sport earlier this summer and wasn’t very impressed. The gear shifts were very aggressive and the steering was a...

@empower77

Hi mate I have owned the new E from Spetmeber 2016 so over 2 years now I absolutely love my car Its a diesel so powerwise I can not say much compared to what you looking at the drive is good and handles very very well in my opinion for a car of this size on UK road yoy do feel the bumps bit roads are crap here and i have low profile run flats the gearbox is excellent the interior is very quiet and I am very happy with quality and the seats are supreme on long rides especially.

Touch wood I have not had any issues just general service and normal Mercedes software updates.

The only negative for me is the ride on bumps and bad roads I am not sure where You live but here in My area in UK on my street I counted I have 8 to 10 potholes and my two rims are buckled also I thought I left potholes in SA lol but UK have them ..

Geez. In that photo you'd think the W213 is an S-Class.

It's good to know that the car is still good to drive. The only W211s I have driven are an E500 about 10 years ago and a friend's tuned E55 two years ago which he replaced with an CL500.

My biggest peeve with the current E and C is the feel on the door panels and a few other areas. I wish they were more solid, but the interior design of the E is so welcoming that I can overlook some aspects of the quality.

That was my first thought too when I parked them side by side. The rims alone on the W213 is almost bigger than the entire rim+tyre combination on the W211.

Alloys sizes are ridiculous these days. 10 years ago rappers bragged about 20 inch alloys on Cadillac Escalades. Today, you can order a jaguar F-Pace withe 22s from factory.

The E 53 sedans have landed in Australia, however it is way too expensive at $180k AUD though.

Is this in place of or in addition to the E43? They must be quite loaded in terms of equipment though. A basic 540i without m sports etc. costs $150K drive away.

Replaces the E43. It is fully loaded, I really thought around $165k AUD should be the right price.

Update about my E400 2017:-

My car reached 56,000 km, so far running smooth without any recent problems.

I did increase my tire profile by 5 on each 4 tires. Now, my front tire profile is 40/245/20 and rear 35/275/20. The car now feels much more comfortable, although I must have lost some of the handling/traction but not significant at all. I used Hancook tires before but they puncture very easily with road potholes. Now I'm using Nitto tires, got them with a fairly lower price.

Overall, I still love driving the car. I spent 56,000 km in 2 years driving the car but I still love the interior and it feels like new. The car is so welcoming from inside. Quiet and comfortable on highways (specially after upgrading the tires). The V6 engine with the 9G gearbox is still magical.

Feel free to ask me about the car.

That's fantastic to see you having a lovely experience I am considering when I ever change my tyres to go up I think on the UK roads going 5 up will make it a more comfy ride I had been using a demo or rental e 220 for about 4 days it was the standard or exclusive version with high profile tyres and not low like my AMG spec the ride was super comfortable but yes you loose a bit of that edge when you take round abouts so I guess going up 5 would be a good move what can you or others advise
