E-Class (W213/C238/A238) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213


The Mercedes-Benz W213 is the fifth generation of the E-Class range. Body styles: sedan/saloon (W213), wagon/estate (S213), long wheelbase (V213), coupé (C238), cabriolet (A238). Production: 2016–2023. Predecessor: W212 E-Class. Successor: W214 E-Class, C236/A236 CLE.
The E 53 sedans have landed in Australia, however it is way too expensive at $180k AUD though.

Is this in place of or in addition to the E43? They must be quite loaded in terms of equipment though. A basic 540i without m sports etc. costs $150K drive away.

Replaces the E43. It is fully loaded, I really thought around $165k AUD should be the right price.
 
Update about my E400 2017:-

My car reached 56,000 km, so far running smooth without any recent problems.

I did increase my tire profile by 5 on each 4 tires. Now, my front tire profile is 40/245/20 and rear 35/275/20. The car now feels much more comfortable, although I must have lost some of the handling/traction but not significant at all. I used Hancook tires before but they puncture very easily with road potholes. Now I'm using Nitto tires, got them with a fairly lower price.

Overall, I still love driving the car. I spent 56,000 km in 2 years driving the car but I still love the interior and it feels like new. The car is so welcoming from inside. Quiet and comfortable on highways (specially after upgrading the tires). The V6 engine with the 9G gearbox is still magical.

That's fantastic to see you having a lovely experience I am considering when I ever change my tyres to go up I think on the UK roads going 5 up will make it a more comfy ride I had been using a demo or rental e 220 for about 4 days it was the standard or exclusive version with high profile tyres and not low like my AMG spec the ride was super comfortable but yes you loose a bit of that edge when you take round abouts so I guess going up 5 would be a good move what can you or others advise
 
Alright guys, just an update on our E 400. it might come as a surprise but the car is gone, it has been traded in for a new E 450 coming in late March, early April in the exact same color and specifications. Our E 400 itself is fine, however the dealership we purchased the car from was being extremely dishonest with a lot of things.

In the end we are happy to be able to order our E 450 from a different dealership. While it is sad to see our brand new E 400 being traded in, we look forward to the arrival of our new E 450. I also test drove the new E 53 before deciding it is not worth the extra $35k over the E 450.

As far as I know, the E400 and E450 are practically the same car.

Hey Mick, I will send you a PM about this, yes indeed, we are happy with the E 400, it is just that it will be replaced by the E450 in the Australia market with just a little bit of power boost.

Love the spec. The design of the W213 really pops on the road in Iridium silver with AMG pack.

Classy spec you got there Monster, those rims are among the best on the W213.

OT.. any idea why MB stopped offering Alubeam silver paint?

Hey buddy, the E400 is gone for now and the new E 450 wont' be built until early 2019, and will arrive late March next year. It is alright we still have the W211 to drive around.

On the German site the specs for the E450, which funny is running with the old V6 and not new inline 6 is 270kw (367PS) and 500nm, which is 25kw and 20nm more than the E400. The power and torque are identical to the new inline 6 but it doesnt have the E-booster.

That is correct, the E450 is still running on the older twin turbo V6 engine, so far only the E 53 gets the inline 6. I had a short drive in the E 53, it is a really wonderful car to drive but I can't feel too much difference, if any difference at all between the E43 and the E53.
