The Most expensive interior specification, Designo interior at € 5.800,-, leads to a steering wheel like that. Can’t find any other words than: it’s a shame.

Tell me about it. If the new GLE coupe is anything to go by, there are only 2 options on the 400d and 53amg - a towbar kit and metallic paint. Even the fragancing thing and ventilated seats are standard. Yet the massage seats, the energizing packet plus is neglected here.. It's interesting, even forcing wheel choices, where as some countries are allowed the 63amg wheels and matte paint on the 53's! On the current E63s, they wouldn't do massage seats, wouldn't let me order an 88 litre fuel tank at the time (which was eventually brought to UK a year later) couldn't have ventilated seats, the light up burmester extra speakers - yet Germany, buy a 2 litre E and have almost anything. Whacky ideas. I asked the sales guy how many E63's they had sold with non metallic paint - said even a Kia comes with it, he agreed, said Milton Keynes are often backwards.

Infuriating. Especially on a premium product in a market as big as the UK.

There are signs MB Australia is improving a little in terms of customisability, but MB prices here are certainly on the increase. I guess they can afford to do so with such market dominance.

Absolutely agreed, especially when Bmw on the 5 series give a ton load of options most of which we wouldn’t know what they do but at least they are available. I am liking this facelift especially with the mild hybrids should be good for a long time yet.

Does the facelifted E63s have any mechanical updates over the 2017 model or is it just cosmetic changes and an updated interior and userinterface? just wondering if there are any updates to the engine, gearbox, suspension and brakes?
