E-Class (W212/C207/A207) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W212)

The Mercedes-Benz W212 is the fourth generation of the E-Class range. It is the successor to the W211 E-Class. Body styles: four-door sedan/saloon (W212) and five-door estate/wagon (S212). Coupé and convertible models of the W212 E-Class generation are W204 C-Class based and known as the C207 and A207, replacing the CLK-Class (C209 and A209) coupé and cabriolet. Production: March 2009 – January 2016 (sedan), December 2009 – May 2016 (station wagon).
That is disturbing news. After all the bad press around the w211 lets hope history is not repeating itself. If that is the case I will stay with my C320 AMG pack for a while and my a say even for the new 5 series? I hope your dealer is wrong!

Yeah it is....he said that they found that at least 8 of 10 engine blocks were cracked and that most cars were shipped without headlights.

Here, in Russia, you can buy a very well equipped E350 with panoroof, leather, AMG pack, comfort seats, keyless go, COMMAND, xenon etc for 70 000 Euros. It is called "special series" here. You can't add anything else. But I think there is no need in it.;)

I just heard Jürgen Schrempp has been named the new head of MB USA.

Lets hope this is an April fools joke! The press will have a field day with this! The future re sale on the car will not be good oh no!:t-banghea

Agree - I have not found anything regarding Designo for the W212 sedan as yet? I did note that the first E Class Coupe will have a special edition, Prime Edition with 2 tone Designo interior and wondering if similar will be available for the sedan? Me I will add the AMG pack however can’t wait to see full details in English. That is the brochure etc. However as I am in OZ first information will be in July.

I have the official W212 brochure (printed March 2009) which I picked up last Saturday from the E-Class Premiere and there is no mention of Designo at the moment. Most likely this is because the Designo options and colors have not been readied yet. Give it a couple of months and the Designo options should appear. By the time the W212 hits Australia I am sure Designo will be ready. :usa7uh:

The post about the E-Class being delayed and everything else negative was an April Fools joke........lol......had some of you really going there for a min!

M

Bastard! I believed you and was like "Damn, not this sh_t again!" :D

:t-cheers:

Ha ha....I love it......I knew just what to say about the E's quality to get you all going.

You should have known it was a joke after the W221 and the W204 both launched without the glitches of the W211.

You all really believed that the cars were put on the boat for America without headlights? Or did you all miss that part because of the cracked engine blocks?

M

the missing headlights is what tipped me off... The cracked engine blocks was semi believable.

The part about the headlights seemed semi-believable since you guys get different headlights I believe. I figured somebody at Mercedes had done too much drinking on Sunday night, went to work sober on Monday and screwed up on the cars getting sent to the US...something like that. :D

Some pictures of the W212 E-Class in real life on the street. Spotted a bunch of them yesterday!

These are from my Diapers Needed 1-5 threads in the Sightings section. ;)

E250 CDI

Notice the license plates of THIS and the one ^above^: MZ:YA1306 and MZ:YA1307 - these were definitely promotion vehicles from Mercedes themselves!

MZ:YA1306 E250 CDI again...

Another dealership car. Looked like this old couple managed to testdrive one for the weekend. It's an E220 CDI by the way. You even have an Audi A6 in the background for visual comparison purposes. :D

Notice how the the right (your left) boomerang light is not illuminated, but in the other shots it is. We've seen a number of press photos where this is the case. Somebody tell me what's going on, please. I assumed this was because of lighting system the photographers used to photograph these cars. Here, I didn't use flash. I used fast shutter times, high ISO and midrange aperture.

MZ:YA1307 leaving the scene...

And don't forget to check out PART 3. :D

Samples...

Damn, the E looks quite comfortable next to that bad ass 599. LOL

Also, that shot with the E in front of the A6 Avant (?) looks so funky fresh it's not even funny.

Also, I agree with Artist...that is a phat ass CL right thur...err...I mean there. :D

When the car makes a turn to the right, the right 'boomerang light' will go on for more sight at night, and the same when you go to the left.

Stunning sick pics Wimmer. Awesome!

btw, I have finally seen and sat in the E350, E500 and E250 CDI at the dealership :eusa_danc

I just read the latest issue of Swedish AMS, where they compared the W211 and W212 220 CDi. The new car (a Classic) was 111 kgs heavier than the old (an Avantgard). Both automatic.

I don't think this gain will be consistent throughout the models but it is interesting.

Furthermore, the consumption was the same for the old and the new (7,5L/100km).

The dynamics of the new chassis impresses the reviewers, bad roads are no problem at all (even better than the S-class, they argue)! They are, however, surprized to find the seat comfort a bit better in the old one, the new car apparently has more narrow front seats.

Thanks wimmer those pics of the car in real are stunning mate they both look splendid and very fresh yet classy i really am loving the new E class the more i see it especially the real live shots.

That CL AMG wow wow wow its is amazing..

Hey Killer so what you think off the New E seeing it and sitting in one..

Amazing pics above, but they further bring down my hopes on warming up at all to the W212, I'm just not impressed. Some of the frontal shots look very sharp, but others look weird, and the side/back profiles don't do anything for me.

In one of the pictures you can see a W221 across the street, if you compare the two, namely the side profiles and "green-house" area and shape, the W221 looks so much more elegant and organic, with a nice rounded roof-line. Even despite its goofy, giant bulging fender. I think it's the lack of grace that's ruining the W212 for me, and the fact that M-B has made it SO angular, I've rarely seen a boxier/squarer sedan with so many sharp edges?

^^ The car intends to re-capture the spirit of the W124. Hence, back to the roots, comfort above all, millions and millions of testing kms to have a bullet-proof reliability...
To make people forget about the W203, 220, 211, 163 nightmares...

And the look, with its edges and boxy shape, just like the interior, are quoting the W124. Which was even boxier than that. But is beautiful nonehteless.

Kinda saying "look, Benz is back! Looks like Benz again, brings you rocksolid quality again!"

And the 212 is much more convincing IRL than in pics. Even if it's still a bit too "designed" for my taste.
