Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

I had the opportunity to sit in a ES90 it was underwhelming.

The door handles are fully electric from the outside, good luck opening the doors with a flat 12V battery.

The door handles from inside are electric and manual.

You sit literally on the floor, therefore the back seats are really uncomfortable, they remind me of the EQS.
To enter the drivers seat is strange, low roof but very high floor, the driving position is strange, you sit high but the seats are really low and surprisingly stiff.

The trunk is as big a VW Golf Trunk. The nordico vegan leather felt very cheap and rough.

But the car is very big, at 5m.

I don’t who thought that this car should be built, it feels like a cheap copy of the EQS with a small trunk.

If the C class EQ looks about 95% like the car in this video then it could be a looker and be getting some good sales numbers for Mercedes

Front 3/4 is going to be the money shot for this car

Other angles will not be as lovely.

If the front looks like the GLC it would look really good, but the rear is the debatable area of the car that could be good or a disaster. If its not so obvious sloped like a hatch and they do something about the tail lights and rear haunches then it could be a good allround design. Not exciting or striking but elegant in the typical Mercedes way.

The ES 90 seemed totally disappointing to me when it was presented, and it remains just as flawed and irrelevant to this day. The wheels on the C EQ AMG in the photos are very nice. Does it have a retractable rear wing, or am I seeing things?

I agree.

I can’t remember when were so many shit boxes on the market.

That’s why I call it malaise era 2.0 .

90% of the US cars in the 80s were shit boxes, that’s why people call it the malaise era.

I'd be a major fan of the ES90's design were it not so..."tall". A lower silhouette would make it an absolute winner for me. In fact, I'd rank it among the most adeptly designed sedans period.
Agree and I would add the placement of the numberplate on the rear, it should have been in the bumper, the whole rear feels cheaper than the rest.
