E-Class (W212/S212/C207/A207) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe & Convertible Facelift


The Mercedes-Benz W212 is the fourth generation of the E-Class range. It is the successor to the W211 E-Class. Body styles: four-door sedan/saloon (W212) and five-door estate/wagon (S212). Coupé and convertible models of the W212 E-Class generation are W204 C-Class based and known as the C207 and A207, replacing the CLK-Class (C209 and A209) coupé and cabriolet. Production: March 2009 – January 2016 (sedan), December 2009 – May 2016 (station wagon).

Activating/deactivating the acoustic locking verification signal
If you switch on the Acoustic Lock function, an acoustic signal sounds when you lock the vehicle.
X Press the = or ; button on the steering wheel to select the Sett. menu.
X Press : or 9 to select the Vehicle submenu.
X Press a to confirm.
On-board computer and displays
X Press the button to select the Acoustic Lock function.
If the Acoustic Lock function is activated, the & symbol in the multifunction display lights up red.
X Press the a button to save the setting.

Hmmm, regarding the alarm... Alarms are usually installed by dealers, not by the factory itself. So it is possible that dealers decided to change to some cheaper alarm system. That doesn't necessarily mean that all MB USA dealers are using the same system.

Still, The next C class will be produced in the USA, and since M-B is transitioning to modular platforms, who knows... maybe you'll see an E class made in the USA as well. That will probably give you more packages and options to choose from.

Lukeswiss is right, strong euro/weak dollar makes M-Bs which are made outside the USA more expensive to sell in your market, and they have to make their prices competitive. Till the production is moved in USA, some other ways of cost-cutting have to be found, and that's is probably the reason of 'honk-honk' alarm, and who knows what else...

Oh no, the honk alarm is factory done. And it's despicable coming from a "Luxury Car".

Mercedes, oh Mercedes, it is looking good. That white E63 is the first time white over black wheels has worked on an AMG. That red coupe!! Yikes.

Front and sides look like two different cars. Front is all nature-y and round while the sides are ruler-angular. Non sensical to me.
