I test drove this on Saturday. The new 4.7 liter V8 twin turbo engines are sweet very torquey. I wouldn't mind one of these.... interior could do with some more leather though.

@Wolfgang Do you know what the MY changes were for 2014 ? It seems some have contrast piping on the nappa leather option and others don't.

I've decided this will be my new 'work' car. They're very rare in E 500 form.

TBH - I am regretting not purchasing the one in the photos above, unfortunately it just wasn't the right time for it.

Mercedes E400 Cabrio to launch in India early next year – Report

Early-2015 will not only see the launch of the Mercedes CLA sedan, but also the Mercedes E400 Cabriolet, claims a report from Autocar India. Prior to the launch of the refreshed E Class in 2013, Mercedes-Benz India was selling a convertible and coupe variant of the sedan, but both niche models were discontinued.

Now, Mercedes plans to relaunch the Cabriolet in its E400 specification. In Germany, this model is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine capable of 328 hp and 480 Nm of torque, matched to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The E400 Cabriolet can hit 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, while the top-speed is limited to 250 km/h.

However, the E400 sold in the U.S.A. gets a 3.0-liter bi-turbo V6 capable of a similar 329 hp and 480 Nm. It remains to be seen which engine the Indian model gets.

Regardless of the engine, the E400 Cabrio gets a soft top that can be opened or closed at speeds up to 40 km/h. With the top down, the E400 is equipped with features like an Aircap and rear wind deflector to ensure occupants’ comfort.

The report states that the E400 Cabriolet will be priced at around INR 90 lakhs, ex-Showroom, as it will be imported into the country via the CBU (Completely Built up Unit) route. The regular variants of the E Class in India are assembled at the company’s Chakan facility in Pune, Maharashtra.

The E 350 4MATIC Coupe will be produced until the end of July and may then be discontinued since it complies to EU5. The E 400 4MATIC Coupe with 333 PS is to replace it.

Mercedes E-Class Coupe & Cabrio gain two new special edition packages

Mercedes E-Class Coupe and Convertible Sport Edition

Mercedes has taken the wraps off two new special edition packages for the E-Class Coupe and Convertible.

First up, the V8 Edition is based on the E 500 Coupe and E 500 Cabrio. It includes a modestly revised exterior with "V8 Edition" badging and 19-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels which are painted titanium grey. The model also comes standard with the Agility Control sports suspension which features an adaptive damping system and a sport mode that promises to deliver "improved agility and ride comfort."

Bigger changes occur in the cabin as the models come nicely equipped with multicontour front seats and porcelain or black nappa leather upholstery. The model also has a perforated flat-bottomed steering wheel, contrast stitching, nappa leather armrests and a black nappa leather-wrapped dashboard and instrument panel. Other highlights include a tri-zone automatic climate control system and an updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay compatibility.

In Germany, the V8 Edition package will cost 7973 euros.

Moving on the, E-Class Coupe and Convertible Sport Edition feature an aggressive front fascia, muscular side skirts and a faux rear diffuser. The cars also have an AMG rear spoiler, a dual exhaust system with trapezoidal tips and exclusive 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels.

Inside, there's black leather multicontour front seats, linarite blue and alpaca grey contrast stitching as well as cross-grain bright aluminum trim (high-gloss black ash, black piano lacquer and dark textured-grain aluminum are also available). The package also adds a three-spoke sports steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and special floor mats with "Sport Edition" badging.

The Sport Edition package can be ordered with any engine and it costs an additional 4367.30 euros.

Runflat tires are no longer available for the E-Class Coupe (C207) and Cabriolet (A207). The new models (C238 and A238) are expected in 2017.

I am an owner of a faceifted E500 coupe and the C300 gets my vote.

The only thing I don't like about the new C Coupe is the presence of the B-pillars. Don't forget, the current E-coupe is based on the previous generation C-Class and the size difference between the two is probably minimal.
