E-Class (W213/C238/A238) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé (C238)

The Mercedes-Benz W213 is the fifth generation of the E-Class range. It succeeded the W212 E-Class models. The coupe/convertible models (C238/A238) share the same platform as the sedan/wagon, in contrast to the previous generation. Production: February 2016–2023. Model years: 2017–2023.
Why on earth they chose to use white for the press shots on a car so devoid of surface detailing is beyond me. You can't even appreciate the wide hips on the white car.

Not a fan.

Each vehicle Mercedes debuts I'm become less of a Mercedes follower. The bodywork is less than interesting, features too much black plastic, and is too bloated. The interiors are too showy and lack the teutonic, understated elegance I find so appealing in a vehicle.

In the E Coupe's case, the rear 3/4 is hideous.

Anyway, here's a comparison of with the previous generation. Too bad mine was totaled.

I can't believe how big the rear window is, I was 100% sure they wouldn't do that.

Good looking car but far from stunning. Not a BMW fan by any means but i have a strong feeling that the next 6 will be much better looking than this. Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Highly subjective but the #1 decision maker for this segment.

WHOA Mercedes has done an Audi in reverse.

The official press photographs are leaving me a bit "hot and cold", my initial enthusiasm experienced upon the recent "leak" waning somewhat. Certainly pleasant for the most part, but far less than genuinely exciting.

Perhaps my perceptions will change upon viewing the car "in the metal".

Need to see it in real before giving any comments. One thing is for sure, it looks much better than it's C-Klasse based predecessor.

Its a beautiful Mercedes Coupe for the most part but I do have some gripes;

Although the greenhouse is designed very nicely but that huge rear window sticks out like a sore thumb, why did they use it??, but I am slowly warming up to it, however it is still a flaw imo.

Secondly, the absense of a character line?, they could have saved it for the next S Class of something..

But overall, its worthy of being an E Coupe, definately better than the outgoing wannabe E Coupe C207..

Why can they make an S coupe without that third side window and not on the E coupe??
Because of essentially different proportions. In my eyes, the coupe line-up is actually more differentiated than the according limo line-up. Whereas the latter indeed more or less look like bloated or shrunk versions of each other, the coupes are easily identified based on wheelbase, roofline (major factor), and character lines.
The S as compared to the E has a shorter roof (=longer prestigious boot, less dynamic), a longer wheelbase, and a more massive body (that is what I don't like about it, especially with wheels <20"). This constellation allows for the full winding option.

Dimensions comapred to 6er, 6er is longer, wider, but it has shorter wb.
E coupe - length 4826 mm ( + 123 mm ) 6er coupe 4,895 mm
width 1860 mm (+ 74 mm) 1,895 mm
height 1430 mm (+ 3,2 mm) 1,372 mm
WB 2873 mm ( +113mm ) 2,779 mm
( compared to C207 )

Great looking car, looks better than I expected considering the camo cars looked really bland. Ok this car basically almost looks like C-class front with S-class rear. Only coupe to have that devided rear window/s.

Wow, compared to the 6er this car is almost an offroader. Judging by the photos it actually Looks very sporty, I'm really suprised by the numbers.

The dimensions really do defy the appearance, as the car looks really sleek and lithe in the pics..I guess it's another skill of the MB designers.

I see that quite differently. The car looks pretty chubby to me. So much plain sheetmetal.
Pretty safe to say I don't particularly like it. Like any Benz coupe except the CL/S coupe.
