Damn this looks good. This is going to be more popular than the CLA45 IMO. Funky, fast little trucklet, i.e. hatchback on stilts.

This is the Edition 1, obviously. I like it, but the rear spoiler is maybe a little too much.
I am not so sure, the car on the shots has 21 inch wheels. It is the real deal but the wheels will get smaller, at least I think so.

Oh yes, you're right. Think 20" will be optional, 19" standard. But the rest of the car looks like the real deal.

Not so sure about the wing either, but it's so popular that AMG already experiences some delivery bottlenecks. Downforce is supposed to improve grip? :)

I don't think its pointless at all. More practical than a CLA45 and better looking (read: it doesn't look like a hatchback) than the A45.

But at least the (CL)A 45 sits lower, with the CoG being considerably lower than that of the GLA 45. That's something quite important.

We are talking about an AMG model, so I'd say that handling all that power is more important than practicality.

Ok I understand the part about looks, but to me anyway the GLA looks like an slightly raised A class, so now they are lowering the GLA again with this AMG version, so....I will rather have the non compromised version, which is the A45.

Anyone who chooses a performance SUV, whether it be a small crossover or a big-un' like a GL63 AMG, is willing to make the sacrifice. Watch how well this sells in the U.S. Handling is important in this case but not important enough to rule over all.

The more butch crossover makes the difference though. The fact that you arguing based on a logic standpoint tells it all- I'm part of the illogical, hatchback hating contingent that makes up most of America. :P

Don't worry, both Giannis and I are engineers so we think from an engineering point of view. I still don't understand the American's dislike for hatchbacks.

This is probably as pointless as Audi's RSQ3 or 1 or whatever that is called.

It's not as pointless as you may think. Compact Performance SAVs are becoming the next big thing and are in demand.
In a few years the landscape will be changed and I would not bet against a mini-Porsche SAV below the Macan.
My only concern is why the need for many manufacturers to MINIfy their products with graphic packages that just do not work for the product in a particular segment?

I have no doubt the car will be successful in sales, but from a driving and engineering point of view, it is very compromised.
