CLS [Official] Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG

The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023. The original model was a four-door sedan based on the Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. An estate (shooting brake) model was later added to the model range with the second generation CLS.
Hay Artist, you think you could post 2 or 3 comparo pics of this new CLS63 to the previous model? Your pretty good at that.

Hay, thanks.. HOH.. and Artist

It`s amazing how this version of the CLS is much more devolped
than the out going model. Check out the shorter front overhang!

My only gripe is the hp. Thay should have bumped it up to 523 for the HammerI verion. 518 is no better than the M156.

Did I mention that this new CLS63 is freaking amazing? The new bumpers totally transform the car. It's mind-blowing!

Amazing...

Yes, I expected the 544hp version that the new S63 AMG has with the 571HP performance package. I guess they have their reasons. Maybe the facelift version will get it. :t-hands:

Either way the car is surely a work of art!

The CLS and E AMG versions never enjoyed the exact power figures that the S and CL AMG versions do. That would step on excutive toes.

I don`t have a problem with the Hammer II, 550hp, thats more than enough but HammerI is a bit weak for a Bi-turbo 5.5liter.

gear shifter

have you noticed that on the official presentation prictures there is also the steering wheel mounted gear shifter, while on the pictures from the premiere there is no such thing.

hi all.
if my eyes are not playing me in one of the new cls interior picture..... why is there 2 gear lever? one in the center and the other behind the steering wheel??

Notice also that the LA reveal vehicle doesn't have the orange reflector on the front bumper as required by the U.S. regulation. Either the reveal car is a European model, or the new DRL LED is wrapped to the side enough to not require it.

It might be a mock up interior. They might have taken a CLS550 and added all the bits and pieces to make it "look" like a 63 for the purposes of a photoshoot.

:t-hands:

The Shifter on the new CLS63 should have the same floor mounted shifter that the E63 does since both use the same tranny.

If it doesn`t that would surprise me.

Yes! The pics are in error. MB press relations will provide corrected pictures.

Ersatzbilder folgen. http:///2010/11/die-top-version-des-vierturigen-coupes-der-neue-cls-63-amg/#comments
