If I was in the market for a convertible, I think the CLE53 is a better buy than a SL43 or even upcoming SL53. It is much cheaper, has 4 seats and looks nicer and even the interior is not inferior to the SL. With the FL coming for both cars I would be interested to see if Mercedes changes the SL interior vastly to distance it further from the CLE.

I doubt the interior changes that much tbh.
I would hope that Mercedes has drummed up and entirely new and less screeny interior design paradigm for their next generation of post-Wagner cars.

Literally everyone reviewing these cars laments the screen overload.
 
My most ardent wish directed at M-B/AMG design departments:

Make wider tracks and organically, seemlessly integrated wider bodies the main, if not sole, distinguishing exterior design features for higher performance offerings. Banish the applied, afterthought tinnef.

Less can be so much more.
