Since bigger pictures are available now, I though it would be a good idea to reflect once again differences in A-Class and CLA-Class interiors.

1. The boot-lid trunk. (Where is this button on the A-Class, anyway?)

2. The doors shoulder-line.

3. The instrument cluster has two cones for speedo and rev-counter.

4. The board-computer has different graphics. (The same goes for iPad-like monitor).

5. The air-vents have line engravings.

6. The transmission has bit more chrome on it, and now glows orange-ish (instead of yellow-ish). (All buttons are now lit in that tone, just like the redesigned E-Class).

7. There seems to be no fake-carbon trim, its metal-like now, and bit slimmer than on A-Class.

8. The empty-button (green circle) is for parking-heater (Webasto probably?).

Any more thoughts?

I have to say, the more I watch this car, the more I want it. I simply can't wait to see it in person. But I still hate its price, and I'm still not big fan of hatch-turned-into-limousine.

Why not just come out of the closet!? I do REALLY like this the CLA so much, this compact Benz has bowled me over. I would not mind owning one! Honestly this is a problem for or shall I say headache for many manufacturers and I believe they knew it long before I did.

Hope me o'l favourite brand took notice back in 2010? For the 2er has to be THAT good(looking)!??! Even the A3 Sedan has grown old even before launch. O dear. o dear...well at least this compact 4-door "coupe" Benz will also give the Eastern (copy-cat F-...) manufacturers some Germanic payback! Yeah!:ROFLMAO::LOL::p:D

We need a bigger picture of that. At this point I dunno which I think even looks better between the two, which is not good for the CLS as its RWD proportions and size should make it a shoe-in.

Will be interesting to see if the CLA can cramp the CLS's aura.

Edit: Actually now noticing the frontal picture between the two, it's pretty clear the CLS looks far more mature and classy than the cartoon looking CLA next to it. Crazy how M-B out-does its previous lines so much that the "before" model starts to look almost tame and straightforward in comparison. :wtf:

That's kind of the point, isn't it? Targeting different markets, demographics and all that?

Yes, but to me it's a little deeper than that as I always thought the CLS doesn't have that effect by itself. Also, in the picture of the two cars side-profiles, IMO it's harder to tell which is supposed to be the more mature and expensive offering, when it's detailing your talking about and not proportions, which was my initial point.

From the front, the relationship between the two is much more noticeable right away, i.e which one is more mature-expensive and which one is more "kiddish".

I don't like the CLS side detailing, but it's proportions and silhoutte are best in class IMO (perhaps the facelift will make this car justice). The CLA with FWD's proportion is simply no match... it just looks like your regular "trunked hatchback" with a nicer, svelte greenhouse.
I also think the side lines are even worse on the CLA, particulary the one over the rear door handle and stoplighs. There is just too much space between the line and the bottom of the bumper.

My fav still is the lovely Shooting Break, which stands as a more harmonius design.

Bit over the cliche of a woman washing a car.... if that's the best MBUSA can do, that is really tragic. Luckily their other commercial was cool.

Judging by the dislikes on that video, you're not alone on that.

MBUSA marketing has been getting more-so classless and detached, IMO. Marketing in general by M-B. That "Live Performance" by that cheesy passe "Pop Star" girl who's "hit song" isn't much of a hit song to a room full of crickets wasn't a great way to express the visual climax they were hoping to get across during the CLA's unveiling.

At least the "Preview" bit with the Rolling Stones track was indeed fine, though would have been much nicer had they used that for something as epic as a new S-Class, it'd be much more appropriate. :D

At least one thing that video showed is just how disoriented (or I should say "nonexistent") the matchup/parts alignment between the doors and dash is. Looks like a parts bin mashup between a door panel and dash design that were never meant to be joined together.

That interior is freakin awesome, especially with that color!! I was yesterday at the dealer, my little bro signed for a silver CLA, these cars are selling like hot cakes, couldnt imagine.
Merc really did a perfect job with the A, B and CLA!
You cant gues how many people signed for the CLA, and it wasnt even there to look at it!!
Well done, Merc!

for a car that seemed to draw so much dislike early on, it really seems to be drawing a lot of interest of late :D

could be a bit of a sleeper perhaps. for me though I could just afford the A class, so cla even if interested is really not something could stretch to I dont think !
